"Nightingale" as written by and Norah Jones....
And I will flail under these lights that seep down from the bitter sky tonight
And I will kick and beat my wrists together
And feel an ocean breathing waves, feel them licking at my face.
Ceilings don't exist and there are no floors beneath me.
If I were king of this night, would you become my queen?
And I hope, your majesty that you like your position.

I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom.
Just kiss me before I go.
I'll have to walk a thousand miles just to find the ground deserving of your feet.
You could throw me down and walk on me
And I'd just look on through my love and through the haze.

And I hope, your majesty that you like your position.
I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom.
Just kiss me before I go.
The nightingales are singing now.

They're calling out our marriage to our subjects on their knees.
Their jewelery is thrown into the air.
They sigh at their release as their shackles hit the ground.
The trumpets call out now.
We're home at last.

And I hope, your majesty that you like your position.
I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom.
Just kiss me before I go.

General Commentthis is a great song that always reminds me of my girlfriend, even before we got together. the part about staring through the darkness to find a kingdom reminds me of how hard it can be sometimes to be with someone.

General Commenti love this song. i think its the best on the album...their lyrics are soo straighforward and get right to the point, and they also create images in your mind. this is by far my favorite song.

General CommentI damn near cry when I hear this song. To me is saying: -I love you so much I will do whatever it takes for you to be mine.- That is how I feel about my love.... but she isn't mine. :o(

General CommentI love this song. It's kinda odd for STD to do a happy love song like this, their songs are usually about unrelenquished loves. No complaints though, sweet song.

General CommentWoah Duffman, settle down there buck-o. I've never even heard this song before, but I definitely think you're taking the completely wrong approach to this. If you're a fan of a band, doesn't that mean you wanna see them do well? So waht if some people are just getting into the band now? There were alot of people who were fans before you, and there will be many fans after you. Instead of cutting people down, you might wanna try and point out some other good songs they can check out. You gotta give props to the band and help them get new fans. You didn't really think you could keep them to yourself forever, did you?

General CommentMy ex-boyfriend gave me this Album. He said this song brought him to tears. It reminded him of our relationship although he was giving himself too much credit. In the end Drugs seemed a hell of alot more important then what i thought. 3 year relationship down the hole. Now everytime i hear this lovely song i think of how he fooled himself into thinking i actually meant something to him. Maybe some day i'll find someone who is serious enough about their love to go the distance for me. As for now, this song is a sullen reminded of lost love but im not discouraged. One day this song will regain its meaning, and one day i'll tear up when i find real love. Sorry if thats seemingly a bitch fest =) Its just the way i feel. 'Freakish' seems to sum up our ruined relationship now.
