Dad, your boy is about to fall. He walks the razor's edge. He's on the brink of fading out. He's at his bitter end. Dad, your boy who used to run, you taught him how to crawl. He left home to find his own, now all he had is gone. In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I'd give you my hand if you'd reach out and grab it. Let's walk away from this hell. Mom, your baby is on his way. He'll soon be at your side. Cause he's forgotten all he's known. A part of him has died. Mom may never understand why baby's come and gone. He left home to find his own, now all he has are lies.

General CommentI want to take the scope of this song one step more general and say it's about ANYONE in ANY type of deeply intense situation, and how it is our duty as humans/friends/family/loved ones to have humanity and try to help anybody in need of help, whether that be the contemplation of suicide, drug addiction, depression, anything. I think that the subject's being on his own in the "world" is the isolation that we often experience when we are having a problem, both from the world and ourselves....We choose to bury our emotions rather than expose them, which is the personal "hell" that I feel he is talking about...But that's just me.

General CommentWhat did this song mean to me? Well I named my nickname after it. That says a lot. It by far is not the best juliana theory song though. Check out - This is the end of your life, Liability, and If I Told You This Was Killing Me, Would You Stop

General CommentI love the chorus to this song.

"In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I'd give you my hand if you'd reach out and grab it. Let's walk away from this hell."

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but when I read the lyrics, I think that the speaker is talking of suicide.. "Let's walk away from this hell." The hell that is life.
I like to think however, that the speaker is just offering his hand to help the person get out of a rough situtation.

General CommentThe Juliana Theory is the best band out there to me. The lyrics are amazing.
To me, I think this song is about a boy leaving his home and facing the real world. He isn't doing too good out there on his own and his parents are telling him to hold on. They'll give the boy a hand if he needs it. He is confused and lost a part of him when he left his home. He wants to walk away from his life out on his own (hell) and wants to finally come home to where he belongs. That's my opinion on what I think this song means. I love this song so much.
