you can't escape
what makes you tragic you know
vicious 'cause you want to be
leaving time posessed
to please you

what might have been
was never
the way you envisioned things
so difficult to stop pretending
what's this to you anyway

turn down the voluptuous
keeping close to me again
hold back you virtues
you're fearless in motion

you found your way
so why keep asking me
nothing common suits you,
you live again in solitary

look away for now,
beautiful alone
now who decides to settle down
maybe nobody really cares
what's this to you anyway

something dirty's got you dear
makes me want to be with you
something painful's with you dear
makes me want to be with you

you're better off saying nothing
wish for a happy ending
you're better off saying nothing
repent so all's forgiven.

General Comment "what might have been
    was never
    the way you envisioned things."

I interpret this song as being about a girl who doesn't see things as they really are. She only sees things as she WANTS them to be. She doesn't seems to realize that she "can't escape what makes her tragic."

"Nothing common suits you. You live again in solitary."

Nobody sees things the way that she does. She is not satisfied with the common things that the majority is satisfied with. This creates a solitary life for her.

    "something painful's with you dear
makes me want to be with you."

This is from the perspective of the man. He is attracted to her because of her pain. Maybe because he understands it.

General Commentthis is a beautifully written song, the melody is hypnotic, it's by far my favorite song by orgy, next is fiction, but that's beside the point

General CommentResistor hit right on with this song, it just seems as if the person is making things worse than they are(what makes you tragic)... putting up a false front(what's this to you anyways) and simply to afraid to be them.

General CommentI dunno bout Korn, but this is certainly a fabulously written song. I especially like the "what's this to you anyway" part because of the spiffy messed-up beat there.

General Commentthere's so much great music in the world. it's so hard to pick an all-time favorite song. but this is definately it for me. it makes me cry. but not because of the words - which are beautiful, by the way - but because of the sound. the music. the feeling of it. this song brings back feelings of so many different things. i don't listen to it much but it's constantly running through my head. like it's haunting me. when i listen to it, it's usually on headphones with the volume all the way up and my eyes closed tight. so that the only thing i am experiencing is this song. maybe that makes me crazy. but if so, i don't want to be sane....

General CommentThis song is depressing to me because I know that situation. Been in it over and over, and this song is extremely hypnotic.
