"Angel" as written by and Desmond/tyler Child....
Angel came down from heaven yesterday
She stayed with me just long enough to recue he
And she told me a story yesterday,
about the sweet love between the moon and the deep blue sea
And then she spread her wings high over me
She said she's gonna come back tomorrow

And I said "fly on my sweet angel,
fly on through the sky,
fly on my sweet angel,
tomorrow I'm gonna be by your side"

Sure enough this morning came unto me
Silver wings silhouetted against the child's sunrise
And my angel sha said unto
"today is the day for you to rise,
Take my hand, you're gonna be my man,
you're gonna rise"
And she took high over yonder

And I said "fly on my sweet angel,
fly on through the sky,
fly on my sweet angel,
forever I will be by your side"

General Commentok, do u think jimi was possibly thinking about his death? i think he was really contemplating the afterlife, death, and life when he wrote this. first the angel comes along to prove to him that there is something out there. the angel says shes gonna come back tomorrow - meaning that jimi knew he was going to die the next day. this is in the song, not in real life. so he doesnt do anything, i think i would try and live as much as i can if i knew id die the next day. anyway, in the last part "forever i will be by your side" it means he just wants to observe life now instead of watch him live it. it seems he is serious about the meaning of all this death and stuff. ok that was my unitelligable jibber jabber...

General Commentok, jimmi was writing about life itself, not the absense of it. the angel was his song and his mind. no matte what happened, he would have his songs and his playing to keep him company even if anyone woulnd't listen, there fore he'lld be happy. but who are we to judge? we'll never know rip jimmi

General CommentThe song is about a dream Jimi had. The angel is his mother and she is always there for him. In reality, his mother died when he was 15 and was never around when she was alive. He was mostly raised by his father.

General Commenti love this song so much. i think this song got my into jumi hendrix. that is besides are you experienced. a part of the song when he says "she stayed long enough to rescuemehe probably got saved from an incident where he could of died...such as when he was in london and within 5 mins he was there he almost got ran over by a car. But he must of come to the realization that there was someone looking over him.(an angel) and he is no loner afriad to die because he knows theres life after death.

General CommentThis song is about his mother, Lucille Hendrix. His mother came to him in a dream as a child. she was there for him in his dreams because she wasn't there in reality.
