Hand of fate is moving and the finger points to you
He knocks you to your feet and so what are you gonna do?
Your tongue has frozen now you've got something to say
The piper at the gates of dawn is calling you his way

You watch the world exploding every single night
Dancing in the sun a newborn in the light
Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death
Hello to eternity and live for every breath

Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come

The ferryman wants his money, you ain't going to give it back
He can push his own boat as you set up off the track
Nothing you can contemplate will ever be the same
Every second is a new spark, sets the universe aflame

You watch the world exploding every single night
Dancing in the sun a newborn in the light
Brothers and their fathers joining hands and make a chain
The shadow of the Wicker Man is rising up again

Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come

Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come

Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh

The Wicker Man is a man made of wicker. The British Druids used to put men and women in there as a sacrifice before the Romans arrived. They made a Christopher Lee film about a man who finds out a cult still practice this, and is eventually sacrificed himself.

The song is about that whole thing, i think. Not too sure to be honest with ya...

Yes public menace, you ARE very much mistaken. The wicker man wasn't a murderer. It might have something to do with the movie, I wouldn't be surprised (see "New Frontier"). I think they just made up some kick ass lyrics, and then took the lyric "Wicker Man" and named the song after it.

The title is obviously inspired by the cult movie The Wicker Man.

I say this because that is how Iron Maiden chooses to write their songs.

However, this song seems to have little to do with that movie at all.

Everyone should see this movie and make up their own mind.

    About a lot of things.

My personal interpretation of this song is a man who critisizes everyone else, and stands back and watches everything happen. I get that idea from the chorus, and then the verses give the idea that irony is going to bite him in the ass.

Thats just my idea, though. :/

It's about the apochalips as you can tell by the prechours

"You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun a new born in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath "

I'm not sure what this song is about, I thught it may be about teh cult movie "The Wicker Man", but not having seen taht I can't say. Anyhoo, I've been a fan of Maiden since I was a little headbanger back in the 80's and this song is one of their catchier new ones HOWEVER, I dareyou to listen to Green Day's "Bab's Uvula Who?". More specifically, the guitars. then listen to this song. I can't believe Maiden tooka bite from Green Day. Wonder if it's just a coincidenc.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
