"Look For The Truth" as written by Janick Gers, Bayley Cooke and Stephen Percy Harris....
All my dark dreams
Drift like smoke in the breeze
The fear grips me as I fall towards my sleep
Here comes the nightmare that never ends
Here is the dream that makes monsters of men

In the house of my soul
In rooms of ugliness and cold
Memories locked away
All the doubts and fears I never faced

Now they come again
I am falling down to meet with them
fear within us all
Mine awake and they stand up tall

Look for the truth
Deepest cut of all from you
Knife of the truth
Blade of hatred slicing through

I pray my sleep will break
Maybe this time I won't wake
Weakness I hide so well
This dagger in my mind will tell

It's my final stand
I make a fist out of each hand
To the shadows of the past
Take a breath and I scream attack

General CommentThis is one of the few songs that the lyrics make the song perfect. Just listen to the words:

''In the house of my soul
In rooms of ugliness and cold''

It's BRILLIANT! The lyrics are SO SHARP!

General CommentThis is a song that gets me pumped up. I could listen to it over and over...I love all the Blaze stuff, but I hate Blaze singing live. Yes...I even like "The Angel and the Gamble"...Even though it IS the only Iron Maiden pop song. haha. It still gets me pumped up! As for the meaning of this song...

General CommentSounds like someone facing off their past demons and doing some proverbial inner digging to let them all out. It's almost inspirational, but like everything on this album, there's a creeping sense of depression and loss.

It's not the kind of stuff I expect from Maiden, but not looking at it from that stand point... It's one of the best albums atmospherically that I've ever listened to. I wish people gave this album more credit.

General CommentI actually think this is one of the better Blaze-songs. Very underrated, in my opinion.

Are there any live recordings with Bruce singing this one?

General CommentGreat song. One of the best of the Blaze-era.

Although, to be honest, I am probably one of the biggest Blaze-era Maiden fans. I like a good 50% of the songs they made during the period... and what I do like, I like as much or sometimes more than a lot of other Maiden albums.

General CommentLook for the truth...look for the truth within yourself; within your soul and your mind. Find your true self. Look for the truth within your government. look for the truth wherever you go...But always givet he truth as well as always looking for it. We've seen "truth" be a theme of several Iron Maiden songs, now haven't we? Maybe they are trying to tell us something. I just wish Bruce would run for PM of Britain already...and then President of America (I know, i know...he can't run for President) But it would be awesome and he'd be excellent!
