Before I let you down again
I just want to see you in your eyes
I would have taken everything out on you
I only thought you could understand

They say every man goes blind in his heart
And they say everybody steals somebody's heart away
And I got nothing more to say about it
Nothing more than you would me

Send me your flowers of your December
Send me your dreams of your candy wine
I got just one thing I can't give you
Just one more thing of mine

They say every man goes blind in his heart
They say everybody steals somebody's heart away
And I've been wondering why you let me down
And I been taking it all for granted

i dont know but...I think the deeper meaning of this song is that everyone steals somebody's heart, and you cant really help if you dont love the person back...but when it happeneds to you, and someone steals your heart and they dont love you back, then you know how it hurts and you think back to the person you hurt and how you they handled it, and how you took it for granted and how now you know what they went through...i love her songs lyrics, they can have so many meanings and they are so deep, she exposes everything to the very core.

this one is beautiful. i like mazzy star's music, but not all of their lyrics say so much. this one does. i think it's about how we tend to take love for granted 'till it's gone. and then we wakr up and wonder why we didn't smell the coffee.

    plus:

they say every man goes blind in his heart and they say everybody steals somebody's heart away

that's a great part. strange, but it gives me hope in a way. it's gonna b ok.

LOL!!!!!!! Boy, oh boy! JoeDixon, I'm laughing so hard, it's not even funny. I'm not even being sarcastic or anything. Bizilllion kudos to you.

Aaaanyway, about the meaning, I think some guy was in love with her but she only saw him as a friend. So she takes all her shit out on him thinking he would understand:

'Before I let you down again I just want to see you in your eyes I would have taken everything out on you I only thought you could understand'

About blind and stolen hearts they don't have much to say because they both know he loves her, but she doesn't love back.

'They say everyman goes blind in his heart And they say everybody steals somebody's heart away And i got nothing more to say about it Nothing more than you would me'

It seems to me they've lost their friendship so she says they can still share things, hence the December and the dreams and crap. Also, the flowers show that he is in love, and she is telling him to send them, so things go back to normal. However, the only thing she can't give back is her heart.

'Send me your flowers, of your December Send me your dreams, of your candy wine I got just one thing I can't give you Just one more thing of mine'

Finally, she regrets taking him for granted but at the same time resents the fact that he let her down by walking away because he couldn't stand having her ONLY as a friend.

‘And I've been wondering why you let me down And I been taking it all for granted’

Yeah, so she wants things to go back the way they were.

i think "i want to see you in your eyes" has an easy, obvious meaning. she's saying that she want to look at him by means of his eyes. like people say that you can see and understand someone through their eyes; a way to see into their soul. and then she says that he thought he knew without her having to tell him, and that if she had known he wasn't aware, she would've told him. i think that's what the first stanza is about.

i agree with AllisVanity. this song is so beautiful. i agree how the first verse basically is talking about how when you don't like someone like they like you and you think you can reject them because you don't think it'll hurt them because you don't know how much they like you. you think it's only a little bit. it's a blow to your ego nonetheless. i like when she says "and i've got nothing more to say about it" because it's like when you have all these emotions in your head but you don't feel like telling everyone how sad you are. because words don't accurately express it. so she just says "nothing more than you and me." also, i kind of feel like the actual chorus is talking about how no matter what the guy gave to her, she can't give him her heart. i feel like the guy is pulling out all the stops. he wants to give her flowers even if it is december and they are dieing. but at the time, it didn't matter to her because she couldn't love him like he deserved. and i think maybe at the end she maybe starts to finally like him but he's over her so he "let her down". and she's wondering why she didn't like him in the first place. very sad and happens a lot

This song has always been my second fav song behind Look on Down. so sweet & melancholy. I used to crank this up & dance around the room with my baby boy when he was like 4 months old. It's embedded into his personality.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
