Communication is a lot like the wind,
When I speak, It's like no one understands and I'm left with empty hands,
Forever I can't speak, So many things I'll never learn
You can't cross bridges that you've burned,
Why is life such an issue in your mind,
Why are the answers to my problems hard to find, So hard to find
Don't forget to buckle when you fall,
Beneath the pressure of the seconds, when your life became a screamer,
Staring at the sea, things become so small,
I want movies of my dreams, and pictures on my wall,
Pictures on my wall,

You say that I'm a dreamer,
I say you're a non believer,
Take out the light, take out the light, Start screamin',
I'm dreaming, I'm a dreamer, no one believes me,
bet you don't either, So tell me what to do
Take out the light, Take out the light,
Take out the light, take out the light start screamin'

    this song is simple.

the persona(narrator) is a dreamer and/or someone who has visions and plans for life. "I want movies of my dreams and pictures on my wall."

problem is, when he speaks "It's like no one understands and I'm left with empty hands forever. " He concludes metaphorically that he cant speak.

He begins to get frustrated with life and his situation with whoever he refers to "you" as. "Why is life such an issue when you're mine" the other person he refers to doesent listen to him either and is like everyone else. "no one believes me, and you don't either."

he gets filled with frustration, anger and confusion and all he can do is scream because he doesent know what else to do "tell me what to do".

he is yearning for a voice, you can hear it in how he sings from the first word. as for the line "take out the light" well it obviously has something to do with his outrage in screaming but what it means exactly doesent really matter that much.

t this song reminds me of an old boyfriend of mine. im your typical dreamer and he was always telling me that daydreaming gets you nowhere and i should working to make my life. and of course all we did was fight so we eventually broke up and im having fun with my life while he's in the hospital with some stress disease. i guess life favors the dreamers who travel with the wind.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
