"Unglued" as written by Dean Deleo, Robert Emile Deleo, Eric Kretz and Scott Richard Weiland....
Moderation is masturbation
What is what and what makes you feel good?
All these things I think about I think about
Always come unglued

Yeah I got this thing it's comin' over me
I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this feeling comin' over me
Over me

This confusion is my illusion
Nowhere to look but nowhere to find ya
All these things I'm sick about I'm sick about
They always come unglued

Yeah I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this feeling comin' over me over me

Moderation is masturbation
What is what and what makes you feel good
All these things I think about I think about
They always come unglued

Yeah I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this feeling comin' over me over me

Yeah I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this feeling comin' over me over me

Yeah, well, yeah

Song Meaningi think this has a meaning that contradicts vasoline. its about a hedonist who only cares about satisfying himself, through drugs and excess

moderation is masturbation: hes basically saying do whatever the hell you want to make yourself happy. restraining yourself is pointless

what is what and what makes you feel good: life is all about pleasure

all these things i think about always come unglued: hes tried to think about life differently but all other reasoning seems to fall apart

ive got this feeling coming over me: now he thinks he understands. the feeling is happiness. hes happy being a selfish hedonist

this confusion is my illusion: life is simple, theres no mystery. he thinks we're fooling ourselves by thinking theres more out there than our own pleasure

nowhere to look but know where to find it: same thing as before. theres nothing else to look for. the meaning of life is right here

all these things im sick about always come unglued: again. hes sick of trying to be a good person. the logic in that no longer makes sense to him

i think the songs about how scott used to feel about life. things didnt make sense to him so he turned to sex drugs and rock and roll. i dont think he feels this way anymore though, based on a bunch of other songs hes written

Song MeaningThis song has absolutely nothing to do with sex and/or the act of masturbating. Just because the word masturbation and coming unglued are in the lyrics, it doesn't automatically mean that's what it's about. Considering Scott just passed, it should be abundantly clear that this is about his uncontrollable addiction.

I won't go line by line since it should be pretty clear, but some interpretation:

    "Moderation Is masturbation
What is what and what makes you feel good?
All these things I think about I think about
    Always come unglued "

No such thing as moderation with his drug use. All or nothing and it's all in on its use. Anything in moderation doesn't make you feel good/satisfied, hence his all in nature with drug use. Thinking about all this makes him come unglued/unhinged.

    "This confusion Is my illusion
Nowhere to look but nowhere to find ya
All these things I'm sick about I'm sick about
    Always come unglued"

Looking at himself in the mirror, the confusion is his internal debate on his drug use. He has no control thus the "confusion" is merely an "illusion."

The refrain is another easy interpretation:

"Yeah I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this thing its comin' over me
I got this feeling comin' over me
    Over me"

    The thing/feeling is drug use/addiction.

    Poor guy. RIP Scott Weiland.

General CommentIt's not just about masturbation, I think it means about the same thing as Vasoline. He's realizing that his life of drugs and jerking off is so meaningless and he wants something more...he wants real happiness not just drugs and fake sex.

General CommentI think this song is about someone who fails in their relationships and the only person that can keep him/her satisfied is themself

General CommentIt's about masturbation definately. He thinks about sex and then he jerks off, 'come unglued' (cum unglued), and then he's got this feeling coming over him. =P

General CommentI think it's about more than masturbation...at least I hope so, it's my second favorite song from the Purple CD. I won't be able to listen to it anymore if it's just about jerking off.
