"Plush" as written by Tiga James Sontag, Matthew Dear and Jori Hulkkonen....
And I feel that time's a wasted go
So where ya going to tomorrow?
And I see that these are lies to come
Would you even care?
And I feel it
And I feel it
Where ya going to tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
And I feel, so much depends on the weather
So is it raining in your bedroom?
And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray
Would you even care?
And I feel it
And she feels it
Where ya going to tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow

General CommentI can see how you could interpret this song in many ways. However, 'when the dogs begin to smell her' doesn't necessarily mean that she's dead and buried. Dogs could be understood as worthless men beginning to sniff around her, trying to get with her. And 'Will she smell alone?' could be thought of as will she be the only one that these men are after, or does she stand a chance of avoiding them.
Dogs could also mean ruin. That when ruin finds her, will she just go down, or will he go down too. Just a thought or two about this song. It is such a great song I'd hate to think that it's about a rape victim.
The only person that can truly tell us the meaing to this song, of course, is Scott Weiland.

General CommentIt is both...He was inspired to write this song when a girl he knew was kidnapped and killed but the it led him to another meaning to the song witch is a metaphore about a lost obsesive relationship

    General CommentThis is my interpretation:

And I feel that time's a wasted go
So where ya going to tomorrow?
(*don't waste time going home if soon we'll be together again)

And I see that these are lies to come
    Would you even care?
(*you will lie to him about being with me, without remorse)

    And I feel it
    And I feel it
    Where ya going to tomorrow?
(*I am certain you will come back to me)

Where ya going with that mask I found?
(*youre going home with me in your mind)

And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
    Will she smell alone?
(*So when his suspicions arise will he suspect about me?)

And I feel, so much depends on the weather
So is it raining in your bedroom?
(* It all depends on your relationship now with him, and lack of desire for him)

And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray
    Would you even care?
(*I know trouble will come, are you ready)

    And I feel it
    And she feels it
    Where ya going to tomorrow?
    (*)

Where ya going with that mask I found?
    (*)

And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
    Will she smell alone?
    (*)

When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
(*When he discovers your infidelity, ill be here waiting.)

General Commenti think this song means he lives with a woman that he can not trust, he must always watch out for her to make sure she is not cheaitng on him, and when he says "when the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone", meaning when he snoops on her to find out where she is going, will she be alone

General Commenti'm glad some people other than me aren't seeing the rape in this song. i don't think it's as morbid a song as all that. i think it could have many meanings, especially to different people, but i just don't see that as one of them.

General CommentWait, I think I get the chorus, by templepilot 's interpretation....

Where ya going to tomorrow - asking suspiciously

Where ya going with that mask I found? - maybe the mask means some kind of evidence he found that she was cheating

When the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone? - like templepilot said, will she smell alone or smell of someone else.

General Commentyou are all friggin' idoits. the lyrics to this song were inspired by a girl who was murdered back in the early part of the 90's...however the song is not about that. its a metophor for a lost obsessive relationship.

General CommentActually, I think songs become more interesting when you find out the meaning, or are trying to find out the meaning.

I like sergeants idea, although it's a bit weird.

My Interpretationthis is what it think it means...
The first line seems sarcastic, or if not caring.
and then he begins to describe his relationship with his girl, beginning to figure her out, and he thinks that she doesn't feel as strongly to him.
the pre chorus is just his emotion.
the chorus describes still if she cares for him at all like he does for her...
The mask I found is described as a character she portrays or an emotion that she is showing....
And the dogs symbolize the men that are around her, hitting on her flirting with her, that sort of deal, and then saying, will she trust him and be alone when she's not around him.
The 2nd verse starts off with, "so much depends on the weather", which weather can symbolize emotion like dark skies and black clouds are depression......
but he describes in the second line, "so is it raining in your bedroom", going back to the weather part, which rain could symbolize tears and crying. He's questioning if she's crying and upset about their relationship. Then going on to ask again, if she still cares....he seems very hurt as if he'll never see her again.
The Bridge goes on to say..
When the men she is around flirt with her and try getting with her, he'll find out later if she's been faithful and wait until tomorrow if she'll still be with him.

according to deleo the lyrics were loosely based on a newspaper article Weiland had read about a girl who had been found dead in an area outside of San Diego. Weiland has also said that the song's lyrics are a metaphor for a failed relationship
