brush your shoulder w/ an off-hand gesture / I'm holding your stare /
invite me upstairs
we look for reasons to stand closer touching / we look at a book / of
pictures you took
see who's taller and then arm wrestle a bet / I match your breathing
our chins touch closer we get
it's hours later and we're not much further / we've made it to bed /
your shirt's 'round my head
hands full of your hair and I can't stop kissing / I'm licking your
lips / my hand on your hips
a rush of wonder this spell I'm under might last / are we done with
others all other lovers are past
what's beginning? a brand-new winning, I can't stop kissing, I can't

undo your buckle while you bite at my neck / I've waited no end / I've
made enough friends
we're down to nothing and I can't stop shaking / you're nothing but
skin / I think we're done in
rush of wonder this charm we're under might last / we're too
hoping, our years are showing and fast /
we're too desperate, too soon investing, another lesson I'll pass

General Comment"I've waited no end, I've made enough friends." - I take that to mean that he's looking for more than a hookup and wants something real. He's not looking to make a new friend but something, you know, more.

General CommentThis has to be one of the best sex songs ever. Has all the trembling excitement of a first date/hookup - you know something's about to happen but it takes forever anyway...

General Commenti agree, one of the best sex songs ever. the best part is the lead-up and build-up followed by the line: "undo your buckle while you bite at my neck / i've waited no end / i've made enough friends"

i could listen to the wrens forever

General Comment"I've made enough friends" - what is the meaning of the very title then - what do you think?

General CommentThe meaning of the title is just that the dude doesn't feel like being friends with this gal, he just wants to stick in this lustful, crazy moment forever and have a kickass sex toy.

General Commenti think that's a good interpretation nodima. i also think of it in terms of being a little older. the narrator is feeling his years a bit and feels like he's been around a lot, met a lot of people, made a lot of friends, and had plenty of lovers in the past.

General CommentIt's a little thing, but the words "spell" and "charm" should be switched.
Wouldn't want you all embarassed on karaoke night.

General CommentWhenever I first listened to it, I didn't think it had anything to do with the main character wanting to use his/her partner. I didn't think "I've made enough friends" pertained to his desire to remain uninvolved with the new love interest after this night.
The way I took it was this:
It's obviously two strangers. Then, he becomes more and more attracted to her and learns more about her (the arm wrestling, height comparisons, the photo album), but they're also just putting off the inevitable. After beating around the bush, they wrestle, and are breathing heavily, and everything starts. I think when it goes "I've made enough friends", he's referring to the fact that he's putting everything behind him for her. He's under the spell of Love, and he's beginning anew with this girl. So, by saying he's done with making new friends, he wants to be solely with her.
I love how the lyrics perfectly define that moment of first contact with someone new. The shaking, the goosebumps, and the anxiety and excitement.
That's just how I go about seeing it though :3
