"A Shadow Of Your Own Self" as written by Morten Veland and Morten Veland....
Tell me now you sinner
You run for a better world
Tell me why you'd leave her
Despite all the hurt
Don't deny that you once tried to mend
The circumstances now out of hand

And don't deny your life's a living hell
You're a shadow of your own self
Tell me now you sinner
Still lost in your secret world
Tell me now you've seen her
You know how she hurts
Don't deny that you will understand
The circumstances of pain at hand

And don't assert that we will both survive
'Cause I can't take more of life
Stretch your arms out for the fire
For another dark desire
In the fields you burn with loss again
As you dream your life away
Say: would you never walk away
On the break of a coming day

Would you end this line with me
Would you like to waste away what we've ever been?
Would you like to come along with me?
Would you like to lay to rest our insanity?
Would you like to cope for the unreal?

General CommentDepression. Perhaps suicidal. Maybe due to a the loss of loved one. The person wants to get back what is lost, but finds it difficult.

General CommentHard to tell. I think this is about a guy who leaves his loved one, but ends up regretting it. It might also be a possibility that he murdered her, and the guilt burdens him; "Tell me now you sinner, still lost in your secret world" and "Stretch your arms out for the fire for another dark desire".

Anyway, one of the best songs ever made. Makes the hair in my neck stand up every time I hear it.

General CommentI think it is about a guy who leaves his girlfriend (or wife) because he thinks it is the "right thing to do" after trying to "fix" the relationship even though it ends up hurting her and him both...* tried to mend...*
He tries to get with another girl *another dark desire* but dreams of his true love. Then she says...would you end this line (life) with me? Would you waste what we were...almost as if she is saying "would you commit suicide with me...

General CommentThink it's about a ultra-romantic kind of relationship.
An obsessive love, that doesn't want the loss of the partner. It sounds like Borderline's and some extreme mental disorders' fear of rejection and alternation from love to hate too fast, and that's why the narrator asks for guarantee, for promises (one extreme depressive symptom is the request for to not get forsaken). We can see that in the line "Would you end this line with me?" and the others next to.
But reading more, it really looks like a talk between a man and woman, totally disrupted, with fight and obsession at the same time. Looks like they're fighting, but don't want to break apart.

General CommentEs algo más sencillo: algo parecido a ¨Luz de invierno¨ por una parte, y por otra los personajes pueden ser una joven y el otro, lo contrario de ella, que esta dispuesta a partir con él a ese ¨descanso de un futuro día ¨
