"Hey Mr. Rain" as written by and John Cale Lou Reed....
Three, four
Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you follow me down

Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you follow me down
I've been working baby Oh! so hard
Stayin up in the sky

Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you follow me down

Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you come on down
I've been working baby Oh! so hard
Stayin up in the sky

Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you going from down
Hey Mr. Rain
Won't you follow me down
I've been working baby Oh! so hard
Stayin up in the sky

Hey Mr. Rain
Won't you follow me down
Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you follow me down

Hey Mr. Rain
Ain't you follow me down
I've been working baby Oh! so hard
Stayin up in the sky

General CommentAt first glance, not unlike an old time prison work song...but with the VU, a deeper meaning ("waiting for the man" again, perhaps?) is always possible. BTW, the line is "starin' up at the sky"...as in, waiting for rain.

General CommentI hear staring up at the sky and fall instead of from. I love this song so much. The viola and the steady rhythm of the background instruments create the most fantastic kind of melancholy mood.

    General CommentAnother über-obscure VU classic.

General Commenti love the melody (as in every VU song), and the viola in this song. its beautiful and dark, and I have no idea what it means. I wonder what's behind "Staying up in the sky"
