I drew a sound from the belly of the well.
I've loosened my grip on the rope that pulls the water pail.
I threw a quarter down.
I'm gonna dive down after it.
I hope that Truth of Soul was right to say there isn't a bottom to hit,
'cause if there is, then throw a shovel down
To let the world come in as an easy fit.
I'm gonna dig, dig, dig.
I'm gonna dig, dig, dig.

Back on the ground as far as I can tell.
High above is the place from which I'd like to think I fell.
I'm going underground
You know it's far too dark in here.
I hope that Truth of Soul was right to say there really is nothing to fear,
'cause if there is, then send an angel down
To let the world come in as an easy fit.
I'm gonna dig, dig, dig.
I'm gonna dig, dig, dig.

General CommentIt's about taking a risk calmly and staying hopeful for a comeback even after the gamble doesn't pay off. I can't decide if the character's meant to be a good example or not (I was with her until she decided the way out of a hole was to dig deeper!)

General CommentIt's about finding yourself. You're digging into your character only to find that "Truth of Soul" is right--you're bottomless. You're infinite and indefinite and therefore, the world doesn't come as an "easy fit". It's frightening, but you continue to discover yourself as you dig.

General CommentWell... she seems a bit shallow to me. She jumps with this idea in her head that she is complicated, bottomless, but she still ends up back on the ground. (Even refuses to admit her mistake! "high above is the place from which I'd like to think I FELL")

Then instead of saying, "Hey, maybe I'm not as deep as I thought, I should get out of here" she keeps digging because she desperately hopes to uncover another layer of herself. Even worse, she waits for some divine power to come save her instead of attempting to get out on her own.

Reasons not to become super self-absorbed (because I have been there).
