I've been a devil and I've been a saint
We've all been black, all been white
Mostly different shades of gray
We can't define ourselves this way, it's only paint
But what kind of stains do they create?
And does it build me, lesson learned
Make me stronger, will I earn an understanding
Or stay frozen, choose my fate
And despite the plight of people
I believe we have an equal but demanding obligation to change
No matter what the things we've done
We are only human
Let me start over just so I can restate, how
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too (And let love be your light)
I've been a father and I've been a son
I've been abandoned and collected
Adopted and perfected
Built connections, had connections come undone, yeah
But what kind of friend did I become
One who supports you when you're weak
Encouragement, I speak
I'll be the best that I can be until I'm gone
Because despite the plight of people
I believe we have an equal but demanding obligation to change
It doesn't matter where you've been
We are only human
I'll say again, my wish for you is simply, yeah
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too
Oh, and someone, for you to love too
Despite the plight of people
I believe we have an equal but demanding obligation to change
Let love in
Don't matter where you've been
Let love in
We are only human
Let love in
Back to the well again, back to the well again
And let love be your light
It will show you the way
And what you seek will always seek you back
So keep love in your gaze
Let love be your light
It will show you the way
Let love in
No matter where you've been
Let love in
We are only human
Let love in
Back to the well again, back to the well again
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too
I hope you find someone to love you
And someone, for you to love too
And let love be your light
It will show you the way
And someone, for you to love too
And let love be your light I hope you find someone who loves you
And someone, for you to love too
And let love be your light
It will show you the way
And someone, for you to love too
And let love be your light I hope you find someone who loves you
And someone, for you to love too
In the realm of music, this exquisite, human form of expression
Encompasses an abundance of styles, an array of genres
Consider this album
Is it the rhythmic cadence of hip-hop
The soulful resonance of blues
The infectious beats of pop
The electrifying energy of rock
The passionate rhythms of Latin
The spiritual harmony of gospel
No my friends
It transcends these categories
It is something altogether unique
Something I like to call R/E
In this unpredictable journey called life, there are but a few certainties we can hold onto
First, never stumble into the wrong house when you're running late for band practice
Second, if you can avoid it, never engage in a skirmish with the sound guy
And lastly, remember, above all else, to be good people

i think the first few parts mean that you have to let whatever happens happen. it's all part of god's will and masterplan for you. but the last two verses starting with, "you must be an angel/ cause things made sense" is not on the CD i own... the following are the verses on mine: lord, won't you grant me new eyes so i can see what good are song with no dances i wanna to live to live and take my chances i wanna live today leave inhibitions in the wind what good are songs with no dances, i pray lord, won't you grant me? won't you grant me? lord, won't you grant me?"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
