"Coup D'État" as written by Dennis Lyxzen, David Per Sandstrom, Jon Brannstrom and Kristofer Steen....
Staying up planning the downfall of your corrupted system
What plot will I figure out, what thoughts will I pen down?

I will have my coup d'etat
I will start a riot
I will hold your burning flag in my hand

Sitting up all night planning
Revolution with a catchy phrase
Shitty band with an awesome plan
Punk crusade throughout the land
Sick of silence, passive masses
Educate, resist & take control
To live a life in fear of changing
Is to not live at all

I will have my coup d'etat
I will start a riot
I'll hold your burning flag
In my hand
I'll watch your empire fall
I'll watch your empire fall
I will watch
Your empire fall

I will not die for you
I will not kill for you
I will not fight for you

I will not die for you
I will not kill for you
I will not fight for you
I will hold your burning flag in my hand
As I watch your empire fall
Because I know it will
Because I know it will

I will have my coup d'etat
I will have my coup d'etat
I will have my coup d'etat
I will have my...

General CommentI love being the first to comment on songs. Especially. Everyone knows Dennis is angry and his music and lyrics are what music should be. I'm sorry to say Refused is no longer a band but Dennis lives on through T(I)NC and his lyrics are great for any angry citizen that's protesting anything. This song is amazing and speaks for me when I can't find the words to say. I hear this song and most of the time I can't figure out what my favourite lines are... "planning my revolution with a catchy phrase" or "I will not die for you, I will not kill for you, I will not fight for you" or just simply "I will have my coup d'etat" is enough to make me excited about getting arrested for protesting the war against Iraq and the crappy way our government handles things. Dennis had so much to sing about and fight about and he'll probably die trying to revolutionize but he'll always be appreciated for such songs as this.

General CommentAnyone who likes that kind of lyrics is my friend. If you like anachist-music-lyrics, check out Prapaghandi (for those who don't know them already), especially the album "today's empire tomorrow's ashes"

General Commentthis song is not about an anarchist way of life but rather a step away from the capitalist world we have all grown up to hate. title track says it well, "enough to make me excited about getting arrested for protesting the war against Iraq and the crappy way our government handles things"

General CommentHas anyone noticed how this song and State of the Union by Rise Against are strikingly familiar?

General CommentCapitalism may not be perfect but it is cirtainly one of the best economic systems available. Even all of those scandanavian countries which claim to be socialist are 75% capitalism & 25% socialism. And I've heard the old "communism is shitty in practice but a good idea on paper" great hurray so it's dumb and useless if people can't ever learn to practice it the way it was emant to be practiced idk wtf im talking about btw im drunk so go easy on me

In this bit he kinda seems to be taking the mick out of the idea of punk band starting a revolution
