"A Song For The Deaf (Live)" as written by Josh Homme, Mark William Lanegan and Nick Oliveri....
Nobody's coming down the hall
Nobody echoes in my head
Broken reflection had a look
Nobody ever needed her

I got what was
I want to take what's left
Ready now

Beautiful senses are gone
Canary in a gilded cage
Singin'

Sweet, soft, and low
I will poison you all
Come closer, racing to your turn

I got what was
I want to take what's left
No talk will cure
What's lost, or save what's left
For the deaf

I can go get fucked
Lie beside the ditch
So low round my neck
Strung out every stitch

Who are you hiding
Is it safe for the deaf
Beautiful cancer
Infiltrate and forget
And I saw you coming
And I heard not a thing
A mistake not to listen
When I knew where you'd been

And I got what was
I want to take what's left
No talk will cure
What's lost, or save what's left
For the deaf

General CommentI've heard segments of this song in a remix of the original Song for the Deaf. Is this on their Over The Years And Through The Woods album?

I don't know whats happened, but i'll post them if they didnt work.
they aren't showing up at all atm.
    here are lyrics.

    These lyrics are wrong XD

    Here are the correct ones.

A Song for the dead, that is for you...
    Nobody's coming down the hall
    Nobody echoes in my head
    Broken reflection, out of luck
    Nobody ever leaving

    I got what was
I want to take whats left... (for the deaf)

    Beautiful senses a girl
can marry in a gilded cage
    singing... (screaming)
    Sweet soft love
    now it poisons it all
come closer racing to your tone

    I got what was,
i want to take whats left
    No talk of cure
Whats love? I'll save whats left (for the deaf)

    They can go get fucked
    Outside in a ditch
    Halo around my neck
    Strumming on every stitch

Who are you hiding, hesitate for the deaf
    beautful cancer infiltrates and forget
and i saw you coming, and i heard eveything
the mistake not to listen, but i knew where youve been

    and i got what was
and i want to take whats left
    no talk of cure
whats love? i'll save whats left

    for the deaf.

[You're listening to W.A.N.T., the high-desert wondervalley favourite radio station.
    It's been a good night,
Dave Ketching here, not saying goodnight...
    just saying...]

Lyric CorrectionGreat to see these lyrics here! This is the pre-album version with Mark Lanegan doing lead vocals. Looks like a few differences from the version I've been listening to.

"Nerves up to my neck" -> "In earth up to my neck"
"Rock, right on the vine" -> "Rot right on the vine"
"Not for grey someone's love" -> "Not for the grace of what's left"
"Love again" -> "For the deaf" (like the album version)

General CommentThis song sounds like it's in a prison or in a wasteland or something. Killin' time might be a reference to midnight in a prison which is the time that they execute people. It also seems like a love song. Maybe someone special died and this is the aftermath.
