"Soco Amaretto Lime" as written by and Jesse Lacey....
Passed out on the overpass
Sunday best and broken glass
Broken down from the bikes
And bars Suspended like spirits

Over speeding cars
You and me were kings over the
Parkway tonight
And tonight will go on forever

While we walk around this town
Like we own the streets
And stay awake through summer
Like we own the heat

Singing "everybody wake up(wake
Up)it's time to get down"
(everybody, everybody wake up
It's time to get down)

And when I pass the bottle back
To Pete on the overpass tonight,
I bet we laugh

I'm gonna stay eighteen forever
(cut me open)
So we can stay like this forever
(sun poisoned)

And we'll never miss a party
(this offer stands forever)
'Cause we keep them going constantly
And we'll never have to listen

(new haircut)
To anyone about anything
(new bracelet)
'Cause it's all been done and

It's all been said
(eyeliner)
We're the coolest kids and we
Take what we can get

(wait forever)

The hell out of this town
Find some conversation
The low fule lights been on for days
It doesn't mean anyhting

I've got another 500 nother 500 miles
Before we shut this engine down,
We shut it down

I'm gonna stay eighteen forever
(cut me open)
So we can stay like this forever
(sun poisoned)

And we'll never miss a party
(this offer stands forever)
'Cause we keep them going constantly
And we'll never have to listen

(new haircut)
To anyone about anything
(new bracelet)
'Cause it's all been done

And it's all been said
(eyeliner)
We're the coolest kids and
We take what we can get
(wait forever)

(you're just jealous cause
I'm young and in love)
Eighteen forever
(your stomachs filled up but

You're starved for conversation)
So we can stay like this forever
(you're spending all your nights
Growing old in your bed)

And we'll never miss a party
(and your tearin up your photos
'Cause you want to forget... it's over)
'Cause we keep them going constantly

(you're just jealous cause
I'm young and in love)
And we'll never have to listen
(your stomachs filled up but

You're starved for conversation)
To anyone about anything cause
It's all been done
(you're spending all your nights

Growing old in your bed)
And it's all been said
(and your tearin' up your photos
'Cause you want to forget... it's over)

We're the coolest kids and we take
What we can get

Just jealous cause we're
Young and in love
You're just jealous cause

We're young and in love [Repeat: x5]

General Commentim from the same town that some of the guys in brand new are from
and theres this place in town that all the high school kids go to get fucked up
    we call it the bridge
its the bridge of the overpass to this park in rockville centre
this song is about those nights that theyve spent at the bridge, getting drunk
if your from rockville centre you know exactly what there talking about
    i knew jesse in highschool
and every time i drive by that bridge, im reminded of those nights, getting messed up with all your friends on a warm summer night, and then having to run down the bridge to get away from the cops
just thought you all should know what this song is really about

General Commentthis is what they sing/scream during the "i'm gonna stay 18 forever" lyrics....

Cut me open. Sun poisoned. This offer stands forever. New haircut. New bracelet. Eyeliner. Wait forever. First kisses. New stitches. November to remember. Nightswimmers. Collar weekend. Appearance ticket. Watch her from the roof as she walks across her backyard... now go cry in your car. You're just jealous cause I'm young and in love. Your stomachs filled up but you're starved for conversation. You're spending all your nights growing old in your bed. And you're tearing up your photos cause you want to forget... It's over. You're just jealous cause we're young and in love. You're just jealous cause we're young and in love. You're just jealous cause we're young and in love. You're just jealous cause we're young and in love.

this song reminds me of all the good times with my friends. definitely my favorite brand new song... this or the no seat belt song. both beautiful.

General CommentHave you guys seen live or on youtube how he plays this song lately? At the end, he switches up the lyrics to "I'm just jealous that youre young and in love." Unbelievably awesome, shows how much hes aged since then

MemoryLet's be honest, the lyrics aren't really deep...but they really touch me. Last summer was the last three months I'll ever see 99% of the kids from high school, and it was the best 90 days of my life. The parties were cooler than any of the one's I've experienced in college, and I did tons of stupid shit that I have no regrets for. Not to mention that I was literally getting drunk on the overpasses of the same place Jesse Lacey grew up. This is making me sad.

General CommentAn ironic look into the irresponsible life of a teenager. That's how I see this song.
