"Is It In My Head" as written by and Pete Townshend....
I see a man without a problem
I see a country always starved
I hear the music of a heartbeat
I walk, and the people turn and laugh

Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head here at the start?
Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head, or in my heart?

I pick up phones and hear my history
I dream of all the calls I miss
I try to number those who love me
And find exactly what the trouble is

Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head here at the start?
Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head, or in my heart?

I feel I'm being followed
My head is empty
Yet every word I say turns out a sentence
Make love to a stranger
Just asking for directions
Turn from being help to being questions

I see a man without a problem

General CommentJimmy sees "a man without a problem" and wonders how this can be possible in a world where entire nations are starving. He is starting to realise that he can't take on all the world's problems himself, and that the "man without a problem" actually has just as many problems as him. Personally, I think this song should have come after I've Had Enough on the album.

General CommentThis song actually addresses Jimmy's mental health problems, such as his Thought Disorder.

    "My head is empty
Yet every word I say turns out a sentence."

One symptom of thought disorder is:
'An increase in the amount of spontaneous speech compared to what is considered customary.'
