"I Am the Walrus" as written by John Lennon and Paul Mccartney....
I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly
I'm crying

Sitting on a cornflake waiting for the van to come
Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday
Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long
I am the eggman, we are the eggmen, I am the walrus
Goo goo g'joob

Mister city policeman sitting
Pretty little policemen in a row
See how they fly like Lucy in the sky, see how they run
I'm crying I'm crying I'm crying I'm crying

Yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dog's eye
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess
Man, you been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down
I am the eggman, we are the eggmen, I am the walrus
Goo goo g'joob

Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun
If the sun don't come you get a tan from standing in the English rain
'cause I am the eggman, we are the eggmen, and I am the walrus
Goo goo g'joob goo goo g'joob

Expert textpert choking smokers
Don't you think the joker laughs at you ?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty, see how they snied
I'm crying

Semolina pilchards climbing up the Eiffel Tower
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe
I am the eggman, we are the eggmen, I am the walrus
Goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob g'goo

General CommentI think he's saying "Does it matter if it's out of tune? Does it matter if it's out of tune? Is you all cool?"

General Commentthe cool thing about this 12 inch 45(if you can get the origional) is that if you play it on 33 it sounds awesome. i always felt the song was too speeded up, but on 33 its a trip in itself and you can get into the guitar stuff a lot better. but beats the origional? no way--you have to watch the video from Magical Mystery Tour to see how out-there they were in those days--long live the 60s

General CommentOr maybe the Beatles didn't play this live because it was released in 1967 and they played their last tour in 1966.

General CommentWhen Oasis plays it it means, "Oh how I wish I had a fraction of the talent necessary to come close to John Lennon at his worst."

In short, it means what all Oasis songs mean.

The fact that they (or anybody) would cover this particular song is simply dumb. If you want to wear one of Lennon's intensely personal statements like a Halloween mask, at least pick a good one: "God," "Beautiful Boy," something like that.

General CommentThe Beatles' version sucked, even if it was the original. Oasis just added some much-needed energy to the song.
