The future is clear
Let's get into gear
I'm willing to ask
Do you wanna go my way?

You're out on your own
You're never alone
There's people around
But do you wanna go my way?

They threw me out of town, said I'm a hooligan
They never want to see my ugly face again
I'm looking for a ride, I need to get someplace
I'm feeling disillusioned with the human race

Heat on the skyline, have you got the time?
I'll sit here by the road for yet another day
But whatever road you're taking, I will go that way

there's trouble in town
They wanna see you go down
Let's make our escape
Do you wanna go my way?

I'll give you what's mine
I'll throw you a line
Just make up your mind
Do you wanna go my way?

What do you want me to say?
Just give me a little trust
And answer me
Do you wanna go my way?

I don't know where I am but it's a long way from home
I haven't got a penny for the telephone
I don't know who my friend are, who my friends will be
But I'm feeling like it's happening for you and me

You're my driver, I'm your passenger
The night is looking friendlier than any day
We're racing into it and I will go that way

The future is bright
We'll drive by night
If anyone asks
We're busy making our own way

We'll sleep in the shade
And watch what we've made
They'll never catch on
So do you wanna go my way?

What do you want me to say?
Just give me a little trust

what the hell, this was on the soundtrack to Bring It On?! I saw that in the theater and I don't even remember that! haha...maybe I blocked it out of my mind...heh.

anyway, i love this song...brings back memories of going out to the factory outlets near where i lived at the time and running into an ex boyfriend who worked that. also always reminds me of rainy days... don't know why.

basically about a person feeling lost and considering taking the hand someone is offering them, and taking the new road wherever it leads, good or bad, because his current life has gone to hell.

i love how it's got that whole spy theme song vibe throughout also, gives it an air of mystery.

    My Interpretation

Yes, the spirit stick scene on Bring it on is where I found this song <3 To me this song could have a couple of meanings when I first heard it, it really reminded me of being younger and not really knowing where my place was/ putting too much into other people and letting them lead your journey. Although to me on another listen it seems more like a love song with kind of a sultry vibe to it ( a lust song perhaps? lol) Then there the obvious one when I think about it again it is a hitchhiker getting out of town. Either way you see it I really do enjoy this tune.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
