General CommentNo no. The true meaning of the song is about one of the scientists who tested LSD in the 1930's. In his log, he wrote how his assitant had to calm him down because he believed he was posessed by the devil and thought his neighbor was a witch and that everyone was trying to kill him. Then once his assistant calmed him down, his "bad trip" ceased and he had a positive experience and saw geometric shapes when he closed his eyes and heard strange sounds. When he awoke the next morning, he wrote in his log that the world seemed as if it was newly created and that his breakfast was so extraordinary and pleasurable. That is what i believe the song is about :-)

General CommentThe dripping faucet can be heard at the beginning and end of this song. On the Vinyl release, the dripping plays permanently until the CD has been removed from the turntable.

The big question is: HOW DOES IT DO THAT???

General Commenti dont know what the hell a phycobillian is... but morning glory, or "ipomoea violacea" (more specifically the 'heavenly blue', 'pearly 'gates', or 'flying saucers' strains) contain a natural tryptamine - Lysergic Acid Amide (LSA)... closely resembling LSD.

I don't mind about 'em, like burying this stuff in...
Oh, I've got a terrible back - when I work, it hurts me...
Do you know what I mean, John?
...as I get ready for the gig.
    Hah, I know.
I've got some electrical stuff - I can't follow that, so...
    Hmmm, I...

    *Morning Glory

...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, toast, coffee, marmalade I'd like marmalade...
    God...what a day...

    My head's a blank...
    Come on...

General Commenthaha i was at a hebrew immersion camp the summer i turned 15 and one of my israeli counselors and i traded grateful dead and pink floyd cd's. one of the ones he lent me was atom heart mother . . . the song is great, but my strongest association is how funny "psychadelic breakfast" sounds in a heavy israeli accent . . .

    tripped out song.

General CommentI hate how everybody thinks they know what the song means. You don't know, I don't know so just calm down. I think it does have some sort of meaning but the only person that knows is who wrote it. It all boils down to the fact that its an amazing song instrumentally. One of my favorites.

no need to explain this one. LSD all the way. Not much of an explanation I can give or would be needed, if you don't believe me try it and please let me know how you feel.
