"19-2000 (soulchild Remix)" as written by and Damon/hewlett Albarn....
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose

The world is spinning too fast
And I'm buying Nike shoes
To keep myself tethered
To the days I tried to lose
My mamma said to slow down
You must make your own shoes
And stop dancing to the music
Of Gorillaz in a happy mood
Keepin' my groove on

It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose

Here you go
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine

There's a monkey in the jungle
Watching a vapor trail
Caught up in the conflict
Between his brain and his tail
And if time's elimination
Then we've got nothing to lose
Please repeat the message
It's the music that we choose
Keepin' my groove on

It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose
It's the music that we choose

Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine

They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump
They do the bump

Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine

Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine

Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine
Get the cool
Get the cool shoeshine

General Commentit's talking about carving your own path in life. "It's the music that we choose" is there way of saying what you do makes a difference in your life. Ya he tethers himself to his past, so that he can remember who he is and where he comes from. Nike is a popular brand that everyone buys so his mom is telling him that he shouldn't follow everyone around him, but rather that he needs to move on with his life and make something out of himself that no one else has seen before. He needs to make his own definition of what's cool.

the next important set of verses is the monkey in the jungle part. the monkey is the mass ignorance in our society. The dumb idiots that we all are, to clarify. So one dumb idiot(monkey) is caught up between wants(tail) and importance(brain) while watching his life incinerate into the atmosphere(the vapor part. since we don't live forever (time's elimination) go for all that you dream of (you got nothing to lose). so, what can we do about this in order for us to carve our own path (please repeat the message). Chace after your dream, do what you think is cool, make what you like cool for yourself because it's your choice(it's the music that we choose)

Think about that for not being a deep song. Undoubtedly it makes sense.

    General Commenta very happy song
i'll go with kyofan and nuiman, it's about paths and images we choose,
following either our brains or our tails

    kind of funny, too

the 19-2000 is also a little mysterious,
maybe it's just a way of counting,
    1998, 1999, 192000,.... 192001
for those trying to stick around in the 1900's

General CommentThis such a good, happy, upbeat song. I like it a lot better than the original, but the original has a certain charm.

General Commentthis song is awesome. however, it's "My mama said slow down/You must make your own shoes/Stop dancing to the music/Of Gorillaz in a happy mood". otherwise it doesn't make any sense.
