This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Finding out where you're going
Where you belong
All the while, I'll be right here
Seems as though there's nothing to say
But i've waken up
The tide has turned
The bond between you and me
can't break
People come and go
You'll always be a friend
I hope to never lose your trust
We've pushed and came so far
Holding a grudge. weighing you down
This hatred inside will get you nowhere
To leave it behind is your choice
to decide
Forgiveness is hard but that's where it
starts
All the trust that I have in you
All the pain that I shared with you
These times I'll never forget,
and I don't regret
I hope you never lose your tust
We've pushed and come so far
To my Lord and Savior
You are and always will be
How could I repay you
For all that you've done for me
You won't abandon the world
that abandoned you
You've shown your mercy
You gave your life for me
I won't lose my loyalty
To the one who died for me
Where you belong
All the while, I'll be right here
Seems as though there's nothing to say
But i've waken up
The tide has turned
The bond between you and me
can't break
People come and go
You'll always be a friend
I hope to never lose your trust
We've pushed and came so far
Holding a grudge. weighing you down
This hatred inside will get you nowhere
To leave it behind is your choice
to decide
Forgiveness is hard but that's where it
starts
All the trust that I have in you
All the pain that I shared with you
These times I'll never forget,
and I don't regret
I hope you never lose your tust
We've pushed and come so far
To my Lord and Savior
You are and always will be
How could I repay you
For all that you've done for me
You won't abandon the world
that abandoned you
You've shown your mercy
You gave your life for me
I won't lose my loyalty
To the one who died for me

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Magical

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Midnight

“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms.
“Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
