Kuruisaku kisetsu ga
Tomedonaku afureru
Mata itsuka to onaj
Kurikaesu tawamure

Tsuta no hahisoyaka ni
Ne wo hirogeta koro ni
Me ni utsuru keshiki wa
Oto mo naku sugisaru

Dokoka kanata wo mezashi
Sugita kioku ashige ni
Kanashii wake jya naku
Demo ureshiku mo nai

Tsuka no ma ni imi nado
Shiriuru sube mo naku
Tada azayakasa dake

Marude mawaru Merry-go-round
Itami wasure meguriyuku
Mada tadoritsuku basho
Miatarazu susumu

Tada tatoereba
Minoru kajitsu no kaguwashiku mabayui kaori mo
Hitotsu kisetsu irodori
Sotto kare ochitatote

Tsuta wa karamari mi wa kuchihatete
Omoide no kakera tsuchi ni kaeri
Mata hana tonaru deshou
Like a merry-go-round & round
Mata haru ni aimashou

Ano hi mienakatta mederubeki hanatachi
Ima hidamari no naka kubikashige
Sore demo yasashiku hohoendeiru

Namida mo ame mo sunani nomikomarete

Hakanaku chiru ga yueni mo
Ima wo matazuni

Mata haru ni aimashou
Haru ni aimashou

General CommentI have the English lyrics for Hurry Go Round

    frantic season blooms, always overflowing
the play repeats like that long time ago

when the ivy has secretly grown its roots
the view in my eyes passes silently by

I head for a place far away
    leaving my memories as footsteps
    it's not that I'm sorry
    but I'm not particularly happy

there was no way at that short time
that I would find a meaning
    only brightness
    running through yesterday

    it's like a merry-go-round going round
    going round forgetting pain
    I go ahead
still not knowing where to go

    if you let me compare
the bright fragrance of a mature fruit
will quietly fade after colouring a season

    ivy will intertwine
    body will rot away
the piece of memory will return to the soil
and a flower will grow again

    like a merry-go-round & round
I'll see you again in the spring

the flowers I should have loved
    I didn't see then
pointing their heads in the sunshine now
gently smiling, going round & round

twinkling in the fragments of memory
even tears and rain are swallowed in the sand

    hurry and go round
    even if you're shattering
even if you're shredding your petals without bravery

    go round, hurry merry-go-round
without waiting for the next moment
even if life is flooding you

I'll see you again in the spring
I'll see you again in the spring

General CommentThis song makes me cry all the time, it is, though, my all-time favorite hide song.

This song is basically about mood changes/swings. I could go into deeper detail, but I am not very good with words.

It makes me wonder if his death was really an accident. Anyhow i really like this song :D and thanks you Lucie for translating...

General CommentOf course his death wasn't an accident. Am I the only one who thinks this? This isn't the only song. Beauty and stupid, electric cucumber, and fuctrack6 are the only songs that don't have lyrics like this. By the way, I f*cking love this song. It is by far my favorite song.

My InterpretationDifferent translation... really tough to do, and I fully acknowledge that there are multiple possible interpretations, but here goes:

The seasons bloom unseasonably, overflowing with no end
Screwing around again, over and over like before

When the ivy has quietly spread its roots
The scenery reflected in our eyes will pass away without a sound

Shooting for somewhere far away, trampling the memories behind me
It’s not that I’m sad, but I’m not happy either

I don’t have the power to figure out the meaning in the blink of an eye

But only the brilliance ran off to yesterday

    Just like a spinning merry-go-round
Forgetting the pain, we go around
    Without yet knowing our destination
    We go on

    It’s just that, for example,
Even the fragrant, dazzling aroma of ripe fruit
    Colors one season and then
    Quietly withers and falls

The ivy winds around, the body rots away
Fragments of memories return to the earth
    They’ll become flowers again
    Like a merry-go-round & round
Let’s meet again in the spring

The flowers we should have appreciated, that we couldn’t see at the time
Now they tilt their heads in confusion in their place in the sun
    Nevertheless, they are gently smiling

    Around and around
Blinking in the depths of the pieces of memory
Tears and rain are absorbed by the sand
Go around, quickly, even if you crumble
Even if it causes you to fall in vain

    Don’t wait for the moment,
    Go around, Hurry merry-go-round
Even if life swallows you whole,
Let’s meet again in the spring
    Let’s meet in the spring
    Let’s meet in the spring

I think this is a more hopeful song than most translations give it credit for... there are no pronouns in the lyrics. None at all. I've chosen to translate everything as "we" or "you" as in "people in general," because there's nothing here that sounds personal, and not general, to me. It's extremely hopeful. Was hide's death a suicide? Very possibly. He was definitely an alcoholic, and possibly depressed... but was THIS SPECIFIC SONG intended as a suicide note? I don't think so. I don't think any of his songs were, and I don't think his death was planned. Whether it was an accident or not, I can't imagine that he was actively planning to leave his album half-finished and die that particular night. hide brought a lot of hope to a lot of people, and I can't feel anything but that hope from this song in particular.
