"Gimme A Little Somethin'" as written by and John Lodge....
My life is not as easy as you say
My life is not anything but as the day
My life is surrounded by the things of the day that have gone
My world is built on everything that I want can be won

Gimme' a little somethin' to help me on my way [Repeat: x2]

My heart is not as cold as you can say
My heart is not anything but as the day
My heart is warmed by the way that you love and are gone
My life is founded on the thoughts that we two are just one

Gimme' a little somethin' to help me on my way [Repeat: x5]

General CommentI think this song was written after the Moodies got their first taste of fame (1967 or 1968). Everyone thinks they have it made because of the fame, but all of the travelling gets in the way of his true goal - love.

I can't believe this song wasn't originally put on one of their albums (before Caught Live+5)- I think it would have fit on In Search of the Lost Chord or Threshold nicely. In fact, I think it had the potential to be a hit single.
