shackles kill but look so lovely, maintain reputation
squeeze to fit the mold, she's made to live in their aesthetics
give in freely but dishonor this unfeeling resource
blurred, the paper for their anger: her beauty

someone please acknowledge me
whatever it takes for you to love me

fill me full of shame and let me be a part
in your insignificant world, i will live and die

pills and fingers help sustain her need for their approval
eyes as dark and caring holes to pluck out when i'm needed
faith in what she thought she was is steadily decaying
in her blood she writes for hours, their victim

someone please acknowledge me
whatever it takes for you to love me

fill me full of shame and let me be a part
in your insignificant world, i will live and die

General Commentthis song is about a girl whos sold her self out to be what everyone else wants her to be. she looks in the magizines and sees the skinny little models and thinks thats how girls are supposed to look. its a sad song, but even more sad is how often this situation takes place.
