holding hands by the roadside makes it better
nothing here can make it sadder
she only knows the other world and that it's better
she only knows no, no, no

General CommentThis is one of my favorite songs off of Silver.

The first line seems to indicate that there was some sort of car crash in which someone close to Jason was killed. Holding hands with the female figure (could be a friend/girlfriend/mother/other female relative) helps ease his pain by reminding him that the person who died has gone to a better place (Heaven).
