One lap paces the fall and cuts trough my window like laughter into sorrow. Little movements turn, ster into the day, but this is nothing more, than just until tommorow.
It's still here it did'nt go away, but I guess that it's ok, cause I can wait a little while longer. Been talking all my life, dancing in the dark with lord's wife, you know that thorn in your side can always make you stronger. It's no use we have no excuse, for turning fear into laughter. This is the end and my soul I will sing baby, I will see you in the ever after. This mind is dangerous and give strength to the fury of theses hands that mark, the truth and pain. This is the song and dreams where I will, make my stand whispering in the dark.

Would you believe me if I told you the stories were true?
Would you believe me if I told you that the whole world was blue? Would you believe me If I told you that I was wrong? Would you believe if I told you this was a song about love? Just a little crazy song about love.

When you are alone in your room you can think of me and I will think of you and somehow it will all be remembered. Maybe you can think about all the times you, said the word never. You can feel it in the wind, you can feel it in the wind, you can feel, me coming down over the mountain and I will... gonna put this one away, I will, put this one away.

Standing on the curb, rain running down his jacket. Humming softly, to the beating drum inside his chest. A contridicting fool, a trick he learned in high school. He always hurts the ones he loves the best. I have been told that every day in the sun is a good day, hmm yeah... I will put this one away, I will put this one away, am gonna put this one away, hmm yeah...

Would you believe me if I told you the stories were true?
Would you believe me if I told you the whole world was blue? Would you believe me If I told you I was wrong? I was wrong. Would you believe if I told you this was a song about love? Song about, just another song about love, hmm yeah...

Just a little song about love, let her run.

One last dance, she would'nt give me one last dance... One last dance, one last dance. Yeah, it's alright, yeah it's alright, it's alright, lets take it home.

dancing with lot's wife a biblical reference to the woman who was stuck in the past, her family was leaving their town cos god told them too, and he said don't look back, she looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. i think that line means he was living in the past and decided to move out into the future.

this is my favorite matt good song at the moment. because I love every single one of his songs best part is "Standing on the curb, rain running down his jacket. Humming softly, to the beating drum inside his chest. A contridicting fool, a trick he learned in high school. He always hurts the ones he loves the best."

Useless fact In case anyone wants to know, this was a song made by matt when he was the lead for a band called the Rodchester Kings.

I think the song is about someone thinking up old memories. The guy standing in the rain reflecting on his life. Matt sings about not getting one last dance. He thinks them up and then puts them away. He also says that the thorn in your side can only make you stronger. Bad memories and experiences will make you more aware to further bad experiences in the future. Over all matt kick ass all over again.

If you listen carefully you can hear him say something quietly right after the first chorus at about 1:44 in the song - it sounds like "i love you"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
