"Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" as written by Christopher Thomas Allen, Warren Reginald Cann, William Currie and Midge Ure....
Dancing with tears in my eyes
Weeping for the memory of a life gone by
Dancing with tears in my eyes
Living out a memory of a love that died

It's five and I'm driving home again
It's hard to believe that it's my last time
The man on the wireless cries again
It's over, it's over

Dancing with tears in my eyes
Weeping for the memory of a life gone by
Dancing with tears in my eyes
Living out a memory of a love that died

It's late and I'm with my love alone
We drink to forget the coming storm
We love to the sound of our favourite song
Over and over

Dancing with tears in my eyes
Living out a memory of a love that died

It's time and we're in each other's arms
It's time but I don't think we really care

Dancing with tears in my eyes
Weeping for the memory of a life gone by
Dancing with tears in my eyes
Weeping for the memory of a life gone by

Dancing with tears in my eyes

General CommentI personally think it is an incredibly beautiful and saddening song...And actually alot better than most of the things out today (especially emo...at least Midge doesn't whine...)

My Interpretation The song is not about nuclear holocaust. It's about emotions, human relations and life itself. Only when death approaches do humans realize what they have been missing and the beauty of life. I like how the people in the video use their last time to be together instead of pointlessly freaking out. So the song teaches us to life our life, show our true emotions to other people and cherish what we have. Peace !

General CommentThe video for this song showed an impending nuclear attack - the end of life on Earth - and the first verse (after the opening chorus) seems to reflect this. When the end is nigh, what can you do but dance?

General Commentthe lyrics to this song suggest it should be wonderful. it saddens me that musically it's only mediocre. the lyric "the man on the wireless cries again it's over, it's over" is really tragic.

General CommentSorry about that...Realized I was being irresponsible in criticizing you...To each his own...I don't know, I can't detect tinniness in it, though...I guess I've listened to too much 80's lol...

General CommentSad song about love and nuclear holocaust. Not a bad song, from the last good album Ultravox did.

General CommentSorry folks, it's not about nuclear attack, if you look at the video, the guy works in a nuclear plant which has overloaded. So it's like a kind of Chernobyl situation, 2 years before Chernobyl happened....which is spooky!
