"Crawling" as written by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Chester Charles Bennington, Joseph Hahn and Robert G. Bourdon....
Things are different on my block
I don't know if you heard about
How these folks are living
And I can't help you out
It seems to be your fault again.
What you said got you runnin' round
The demon entered your enemies
You'll pay when you slow down
Oooh, I feel for you
So take your time.
You're crawlin'
Things can only get better, boy
Your life can shine in front of you
It catches up with all of us
On certain afternoons
Times are changin'
You know that
God knows what you were thinking of
Everybody's watchin', they can't destroy you enough
I try to figure out (figure out)
The rules of this automatic game
The streets have got your number
You don't remember your name
Oooh, I feel for you
So take your time
You're crawlin'
Things can only get better, boy
Your life can shine in front of you
It catches up with all of us
On certain afternoons
Things can only get better, boy
Your life can shine in front of you
It catches up with all of us
On certain afternoons
I can't let this carry on
The shadows won't cover your regrets
They told you bout this avenue
I bet you won't forget (you won't forget)
Ooooh, I feel for you
So take your time
You're crawlin'
Things can only get better, boy
Your life can shine in front of you
It catches up with all of us
On certain afternoons
Things can only get better, boy
Your life can shine in front of you
It catches up with all of us
On certain afternoons
Oooh...I feel for you
So take your time

General Commentwhen you feel like you are in a situation in your life that seems to have you in an inescapable spot. you can't get out & it looks grim.

i don't know if thats what its about, but i do love this song! so smooth & laid back.

General Commentthank god at least one site has the line "...on certain afternoons" right. Every other freakin' lyrics site imagineable has it as "i'm certain after you". WTF? You'd have to be legally deaf to hear that.

General CommentThat's a really great song. The artist is telling people that are losing hope and feel like they can't go on anymore to just hang on no matter what because "Things will get better, boy" and he's saying "It catches up with all of us on certain afternoons" which showes the artist also is going through a hard time, but he's strong so he'll hang and get through it even if he has to crawl he'll never stop moving to try and get through it. And Steve99 is right, what kind of idiot gets the line "I'm certain after you" out of this song, that doesn't even make sense.
