"Kick In The Eye" as written by Daniel Gaston Ash, Kevin Haskins, David Jay and Peter John Murphy....
And he spoke of pastures green
I was never told why
Each journey lasts an age
And my throat feels dry
It must be the lesson
Hidden deep inside
It must be the lesson
So roll the tide

So I began the crossing
My throat burned dry
Searching for Satori
The kick in the eye
I am the end of reproduction
Given no direction
Every care is taken
In my rejection

Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye

Every care is taken
With my rejection
And my abduction
To my addiction
Every care is taken
With my protection
And my abduction
From my addiction

Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye
Kick in the eye

General CommentAnyone else notice that if you slow the bassline down, its the same one as 'Sanctified' by Nine Inch Nails?

General CommentI'm pretty sure this song's about drugs.
and I'm sort of guessing with this one, but I think it's about smoking some kind of drug.
"And he spoke of pastures green

Each journey lasts an age "
I think think part's about how when you're high, things are so much better, and time lasts longer.
    "My throat burned dry"
    After smoking it?

Whatever it means, I love this song and it has a rockin' bass line.

General Comment"Satori" means enlightenment. And it seems to me like that's what the song is about the terribly difficult search for satori, it's like a long bitter trail that you keep following despite the hardship, going solely on the description of others as you've never seen it with your own eyes. Yeah... it's all rather Buddhist sounding to me.

General Commenti think this one's about drugs.

apparently they were good friends with killing joke at the time, who were total drug fiends.

General CommentAh, the song that made me fall in love with Bauhaus, and it's still their best.

General CommentThere is a record store in Mobile, Alabama called "Satori Records" (actually, it's been transformed into a coffeehouse with the music sales going online) that got their name from this song.

General CommentThis song sounds like most like Bowie. It sounds "Like the 70s and early 80s" in general, I think, the most out of their songs, with elements of Queen and other bands in there.
