I am alive I am alive
let all doubts fall let all doubts fall
into the grave which I once called home
the breath of life expels the blackness
renew the passion embrace the sun
I am alive I am alive

I search for a grain of truth
In this endless sea of false hope
my quest begins on this day

drowning slowly drowning dare I breathe?

What can I say that has not been said?
what can I do, that has not been done?

in my hour of desperation
who else could I turn to
I guess I only have myself to blame

General CommentThis has to be one of, if not the, greatest Blood Has Been Shed song there is. I love everything about it. Everything from the opening guitars, to the vocals, to the lyrics, to the outro. Amazing. Flawless.

I love when Howard screams "Drowning. Slowly drowning. Dare I breathe?" with the light cello/violins in the background. =D

As for a meaning? I think it is about someone who has just gotten back together with someone(Into the grave which I once called home),and they feel reborn because of it(I am alive/I am alive | Renew the passion embrace the sun). And that someone wants all doubts of them failing to fall(Let all doubts fall). So, in turn, looks for hope to keep it working(I search for a grain of truth/In this endless sea of false hope /My quest begins on this day). But then soon realizes it isnt working and he is "drowning" in the realtionship (Drowning/Slowly drowning) and wonders if he should continue it (Dare I breathe?). Then questions what could he do or say to make it better, but that they didnt say or do the last time they were together(What can I say that has not been said?/What can I do, that has not been done?)
In the end, the realtionship fails, but is still desperate to get the realtionship back(In my hour of desperation/Who else could I turn to ?). Then, lastly, he sees that he was to blame the whole time for their failure.(I guess I only have myself to blame).

And yeah...that is what I see for the meaning. Hey, I could be completely wrong. Who knows. But that is what I see. Anyone agree or disagree with my interpertation?
