"Saturday Night" as written by Max Collins, Tony Fagenson and Jon Siebels....
Saturday night burns
A redness on my face
I tasted you
You tasted me

You were never my taste
Now left alone
With precious thoughts of half - assed half an hour stops
And talk so small I can't remember every single word

Laced with think naivete
Firm delusions can't be swayed
Tell yourself you're happy
We both know the truth

It's false behind the dirty talk
The dirty sheets
The sexy walk
Your eyes are closed

Your heart is open wide
And that's no good.
There is something up my sleeve
There is nothing in between

You and me that you can't see
So beg my pardon.

Honesty's a virtue that can hurt you
Let it be
The thought that counts is
Counting down the minutes 'till I leave

And when I do you'll be looking for security in words
Though you know that you won't get it for the better
For the worse.

There is something up my sleeve
There is nothing in between
You and me that you can't see
So beg my pardon

I apologize for me
Then I'm back in a couple weeks
I'm too weak to help it
Don't know how to end it

I apologize for me.

There is something up my sleeve
There is nothing in between
You and me that you can't see
So beg my pardonThere is something up my sleeve

There is nothing in between
You and me that you can't see
So beg my pardon

General CommentIn my opinion, it's about a guy who got with a girl and he realizes the girl sleeps around a bit to make herself feel like she is loved, or worth something, and he's saying that she's worth so much more than that.

"Saturday night burns a redness on my face
I tasted you, you tasted me, you were never my taste"
They had sex on Saturday night, and now he feels a bit embarressed cos he found out she's a bit of a slut

"Now you're left alone with precious thoughts
Of half assed half an hour stops
And talk so small I can't remember ever saying a word"
She's feeling lonely but when he tries to talk to her about it, she refuses to talk about it

    "Laced with thick naivete
    Firm delusions can't be swayed
    Tell yourself you're happy
    We both know the truth"
This girl believes she is happy doing this cos she is gettin so much 'attention' from guys but he see's right through her

"It's false behind the dirty talk, the dirty sheets, the sexy walk
Your eyes are closed your heart open wide and that's no good"
She acts like a total flirt, but he knows she's insecure. And she closes her eyes to the fact guys are just using her as a sex object cos she falls in love with every guy she meets, and he's saying 'that's no good'

"There is something up my sleeve
    There is nothing in-between
You and me that you can't see
    So beg my pardon"
He has a plan to make her feel better, but he can sense there won't be a relationship so he's saying 'excuse me if it seems that way'

"Honesty's a virtue that can hurt you, let it be
The thought that counts is counting down the minutes 'till I leave"
They're sitting together and he's telling her the truth about these guys, but it's hurting her so he's counting how much longer he should stay with her

"And when I do you'll be looking for security in words
Though you know that you won't get it for the better for the worse"
When he goes to leave, she'll want him to tell her that he really cares about her in a non-sexual way, to make her feel secure, but whatever he says he knows she won't really register it

    "I apologize for me
Then I'm back in a couple weeks
I'm too weak to help it
Don't know how to end it
    I apologize for me"
He's sorry he's had to tell her all this and he goes, but he knows that he's too weak to resist her cos maybe he has fallen in love with her, so he knows he'll come back anyway

General Comment"This song is about being bad and knowing that you're being bad." - Max Collins.
The band apparently really dislikes this song, now.

General CommentSeriously? This song is about sleeping with a girl who wants a relationship. He doesn't, but he won't stop using her as a booty call.
