"Tongue Tied" as written by Max Collins, Tony Fagenson and Jon Siebels....
One thousand faces all look the same
They're all so boring mild and tame,
Contaminate him
Knock off his glasses
Teach him to tamper with the cloning process.

Pardon me Sir, can I ask you a favor
Make me a cowboy like my nextdoor neighbor
Pardon me sir, can I use your eraser
To remove my brain of unconventional nature.

Take my tongue, it's cocked and loaded
The board has dubbed you a special student
Sit alone sweat in a silence
We don't tolerate defiance
Yeah, yeah

One thousand faces lead to the gate
They're all so boring mild sedate
You hear me say this don't make any sense
As I hop up and over the fence

Take my tongue, it's cocked and loaded
The board has dubbed you a special student
Sit alone, sweat in silence
We don't tolerate defiance
Yeah, yeah

Hooked on Nicotine and Phonix
Fun like macro-economics
Still and quiet like they taught us
Fun like macro-economics
(Go, Go, Oh Yeah)

Vigilante thoughts and a cheap guitar
I am my own movie star
I don't know you, I don't want to
I don't know you, I don't want to
Yeah

Take my tongue, it's cocked and loaded
You've been dubbed a special student
So you sit alone, sweat in silence
We don't tolerate defiance
Vigilante thoughts and a cheap guitar
I am my own movie star
I don't know you, I don't want to
I don't know you, I don't want to
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah

General Commenthas anyone ever read the book Brave New World? I think this tune falls into that book exactly. Its about children being amnufactured into seperate groups like the assembly line. and I think its about breaking out of a world like that. However, there are prolly much much deeper metaphors than we can imagine

General CommentIt's about one of Max's friends in high-school. He wasn't stupid, but had a lot of emotional problems and was thusly put into like, special programs and all that, that, coupled with Max's own high-school experiences.

My OpinionI relate a lot to this song tonguetied because I do to a special shcool but pretty smart. I feel like this because I don't like people a lot and just wanted to be left alone half the time. But I wanted every one to be happy. I'm also a maverick and hate being like everyone else. Yet I worry about being look at like stupid.
One thousand faces all look the same
I take this as they looking nothing specail
They're all so boring mild and tame
They go we the stacis flow nothing orgianal to them,
Contaminate him knock off his glasses
Make him feel like a loser for being different

Teach him to tamper with the cloning process
Make sure he stop people for being the same or like clones.
    Pardon me, sir
Can I ask you a favor?
Make me a cowboy like my next-door neighbor
Can you make me something outthere but still fit in with the other cowboys
    Pardon me, sir
    Can I use your eraser
To remove my brain of unconventional nature
I think he asking for something to ease the way he thinks so he relate to other people.
    Take my tongue
    It's cocked and loaded
It fill with wise creak and is loading backtalk
The board has dubbed you special student
The board put you in speacial class and label you

    The nothing new to them
    You hear me say this
    Don't make any sense
He doesn't understand what you mean
    Hooked on nicotine and phonics
Like to learn but the same time a rebel
    Fun like macro economics
Still and quiet like they taught us
You really don't like the class but you stay clam
Vigilante thoughts and a cheap guitar
I am my own movie star
I don't care out you or other people
    I don't know you

General CommentThese lyrics are so brilliant. This song IS highschool. Its about how some kids just aren't one of the clones. They could be a loner, a loser, mentally disabled, or just rejected.
On another note, this is one of the few songs where the music video really brings the lyrics to life. Except for some of the movie clips.

General CommentI think its about how school are run not necissarily about social out casts about how they cart us along the crappy education system like fish (hence the macroeconomics)

General CommentThis is perhaps my favorite song as it is the song that got me into music. Yes, you may think that i was a deprived child (probabbly true :) ) but that is the way it is. It is, to me, quite excellent and the first thing that struck me was the use of a rhetorical device in modern culture ("Take my tongue
    It's cocked and loaded") (a metaphr/allusion).
