"Rescue" as written by Max Collins, Jon Siebels and Tony Fagenson....
I rode a western wind with a girl over to her mother's
In the backyard stars shone brighter than the others
That I rarely see through the smog through the haze that covers
The home that I used to live in
Well I kind of sort of knew what was going to happen
When she put her number down on a restaurant napkin
She said goodbye I think the words were when you're back in
Town let's have each other again I'll come around and see you again

Like Jessica Rabbit she collects bad habits gets her drinks for free
Animated vixen stole Cupid's arrow and came to rescue me
In the blink of an eyelid my lid opened up and I could see
That she'd come to rescue me

I tasted southern sin with a girl who was just perfection
Had a two room condo back in a wealthy section
Of the Florida flatlands where she had me kept in
A wicked trance for a day
Well I kind of sort of knew what was going to happen
When she and a friend came and met me in Atlanta
I professed my love in an animalistic manner
Like an endless foreign flick my subtitles were sick

Like Jessica Rabbit she collects bad habits gets her drinks for free
Animated vixen stole Cupid's arrow and came to rescue me
In the blink of an eyelid my lid opened up and I could see
That she'd come to rescue me

Well I kind of sort of saw the sirens coming
She was running toward me wearing almost nothing
And my heart beat skipped when she bent down at the hip
And her lips pressed against mine

Like Jessica Rabbit she collects bad habits gets her drinks for free
Animated vixen stole Cupid's arrow and came to rescue me
In the blink of an eyelid my lid opened up and I could see
That she'd come to rescue me

Here she comes to rescue me
I'm not gonna blink cause I want to see
I want to see her come
Here she comes

General CommentProfessed my love in an animalistic manner = doggystyle sex... no ifs ands or buts thats what it means. Eve 6 is hornier than a victorian mother in a male strip club.

General Commentthe guy meets some hot, flirty chick somewhere and they hit it off. he has to go back to where he came from, and she leaves him with her number so they can have another fling if he comes back into town, then she actually goes out of her way to come see him. a one night stand turns into something a lot more.
it reminds me of when i was first hanging out with the guy i've been dating for 3 years now. we were friends before we got together, and one day he was listening to music on headphones while we were at a friend's house and he let me listen to this song, he thought the "I professed my love in an animalistic manner
Like an endless foreign flick my subtitles were sick" line was really cool. i hadn't heard this song before, (or most of horrorscope) but i instantly recognized it as eve 6 and we started talking about how much we both love the band. heh, i think that's when i realized i loved him.

General CommentThis song says alot of things for me...I personally think it's about a guy who is on holiday somewhere and he meets this really top chick who he falls in love with - thing is, she is a bit of a flirt and most guys lust after her. But, she falls for him as well and is desperate to let him know what she feels for him as opposed to her normal flirting with other guys.

"I rode a western wind with a girl over to her mother's
In the backyard stars shone brighter than the others
That I rarely see through the smog through the haze that covers the home that I used to live in"
~It's him back home high school with a girl that he liked, but no as much as her, and he thought he knew what love was then

"Well I kind of sort of knew what was going to happen
When she put her number down on a restaurant napkin
She said goodbye I think the words were when you're back in
Town let's have each other again I'll come around and see you again"
~He's gone away on holiday and met this incredible chick, and she gives him her number cos she wants to see him again

"Like Jessica Rabbit she collects bad habits gets her drinks for free
Animated vixen stole Cupid's arrow and came to rescue me"
~Jessica Rabbit is a sexy, flirty character and it's this characteristic in this girl that he is so drawn too, and that's why he is falling for her
"In the blink of an eyelid my lid opened up and I could see that she'd come to rescue me"
~But he feels there's a stronger force that's brought her to him

"I tasted southern sin with a girl who was just perfection
Had a two room condo back in a wealthy section
Of the Florida flatlands where she had me kept in
A wicked trance for a day"
~He spends some time with this girl outside her usual scene, and he's finding the time he spends with her to be bliss
"Well I kind of sort of knew what was going to happen
When she and a friend came and met me in Atlanta"
~She's gone out of her way to come and see him
"I professed my love in an animalistic manner
Like an endless foreign flick my subtitles were sick"
~It may not hav been the most romantic way to do it (whether he was drunk at the time etc) but he told that he was in love with her, and doesn't regret it

"Well I kind of sort of saw the sirens coming"
~This sounds like a suicide reference, or maybe he was in an accident of some kind?
"She was running toward me wearing almost nothing
And my heart beat skipped when she bent down at the hip and her lips pressed against mine"
~She's come running out from sleeping or something (wearing her PJ's or something similar) and she's bent down and kissed him and let him feel her love for him in such an important time

"Here she comes to rescue me
I'm not gonna blink cause I wanna see
I wanna see her come, here she comes"
    ~Self explanitory really

General CommentSounds like a guy's list of all his 'conquests', which are described in the verses. But he seems to go for one type of girl everytime, whom he describes in the chorus. Sounds like a bit of a man-whore to me...

General CommentI agree with sunshine as to the pretext of the song (coming back from college with a girlfriend), but I think she actually dumped him once they got there, and he was miserably eating alone when she put her number down on a napkin. Basically, he just needed a casual-sex bounce-back relationship to get over her. Thus, the Jessica Rabit sex character "rescued" him from the depression of getting dumped.

General CommentFor some reason the beginning of this song reminds me of the beginning of 'Superbeast' by Rob Zombie.
