Little child of mine
You'll be lovin' like your little Mother did
Heard it somewhere before
I won't leave you no not like my Father did

Heavy country blues keep a rockin'
K-k-k-keep that soulbeat a-sockin'
Heavy country blues keep a rockin'
K-k-k-keep that soulbeat a-sockin'

I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry
I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry
Little child of mine
You'll be lovin' like your little Mother did
Heard it somewhere before,
I won't leave you, no not like my Father did
Heavy country blues keep a rockin'
K-k-k-keep that soulbeat a-sockin'
Heavy country blues keep a rockin'
K-k-k-keep that soulbeat a-sockin'

I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry

I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry

I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry

I miss you again
I let the sunlight through my eyes
I won't cry

General CommentI've heard that the lyric, which is written by Danny Kirwan, is about Danny's childhood.. and about how his father left him and his mother when he was just a kid. And how Danny's mother took are care and supported him in life, witch school and his music..

But "the child of mine" is actually Danny's child.
He became a father in very young age.. and he swore to his child that he would never leave, as his father did.
