sun's gonna burn out some day
you recognize
you'll be out of things to say
you recognize
that everybody's gonna die
even you
so what's a party girl to do?
you can rely on no one, baby
rely on no one, baby
rely on no one, baby
you realize nobody's gonna save you

no one to give you any grief
you recognize
won't lose anymore sleep
you recognize
that we hang by a thread
gossamer earrings on a beautiful ear
you can rely on no one, baby
rely on no one baby

but i'm still
but i'm still
i'm still alive today
i'm still alive today
but i still love and i'm still alive today
still alive today
rely on no one, baby
rely on no one, baby

sun's gonna burn out someday
sun's gonna burn out someday
and i can't wait

General CommentThis is like the bitter/sarcastic anthem. It's like when you're numb... you're just sick of all the shit and you can't wait for it all to be over, yet you have some faith left. It's a conflicting feeling, much the reason why it's partially my anthem also ;) Just listen to the song when Laura repeats "The sun's gonna burn out some day... and I can't wait." It's hypnotic. Terrific song
