my mind's on rewind and quicksand (what?)
i was up all night doing nothing (last night? again?)

do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)
do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)

i must have been sleeping when you called
i'm not feeling well at all (cough, cough)
i got this thing thats been going around
please pretend that i'm out of town okay?

do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)
do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)

i'll make some coffee
put on some eyeliner
i think i'll find that things are fine and they're gonna get much finer!!

do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)
do you wanna stay in bed all day? (yeah!)
do you remember feeling any other way? (no!)

hey look i'm really sorry i couldn't make it to your party
i know it looks like i'm gonna cry
got a to-do list behind my eyes
so go tell your friends i'm still a feminist
but i won't be coming to your benefits

i give up
i give up
i'll be at home today

General CommentI don't think it has anything to do with not doing anything, and therefore not supporting feminism, I think it's about how you 't always be there on the spot when people want you, because you have your own shit to deal with, and you sometimes have bad days, too.

My InterpretationI always thought it was about depression. Insomnia, fatigue, sadness, hopelessness, social isolation, and lack of interest in your passions are all symptoms of depression, and the way the song is sung is very subdued. It can't be about apathy towards feminism; tonnes of people are apathetic towards feminism without having to drag themselves out of bed. Plus, I'm pretty sure "won't be coming to your benefits" is actually "won't be coming to your benefit" -- referring to a specific benefit that's taking place soon, like how she missed a specific party.

General CommentI read in an interview that it's supposed to be about people bitching behind Kathleen's back about her being a feminist, and how they saw it as doing nothing, hence the apathy angly.

General CommentI thought this song was kind of ambiguous like the message confused me a little cuz it seemed apathetic to me as well. But what amberbreath said clarifies it more.
