"Into the Fire" as written by and George/dokken Lynch....
You weave your spell
Your eyes beckon me
Your lips they speak, lies and misery
I know it's wrong, but I can't turn away
The flames draw near, they're telling me to stay

(Into the fire) I'm falling
(Into the fire) I'm falling
Into the fire

Your love burns bright, and yet the flames are cold
This time I fear, you won't be back no more
When will it end, your love consumes my soul
Into the fire, I'm being tempted once more

(Into the fire) I'm falling
(Into the fire) I'm falling
Into the fire

Take me back where I came from
Don't wanna see your face no more
You broke my heart, now it's not the same
I'm falling, again
I'm falling, again
Into the fire

General CommentUau. first to post. Good song. I first heard it while watching "Nightmare on Elf Street", the part where the girl has the stero on, trying to stay awake at the first of the 2nd or the 3rd one. Not sure whats it about though.

General CommentDokken is one of my favorite bands ever, and this truely is a great song. I think it may be about someone that is doesn't want to see his girl no more.

General Comment‘Into the Fire' is an allegorical representation of a relationship, ‘the fire’ could be interpreted as love and the consequence of despair and inevitable loneliness that is derived from love. Arguably, the ‘ the fire’ could also be referred to death and the song could be explain societies anxiety and fear of death.

The song was featured in A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and connotes to the danger facing the teenagers if they were ever to fall asleep because antagonist Freddy Krueger haunts their dreams. Krueger, who had been subsequently burned to death suffers catastrophic injuries hence the use of ‘into the fire’.

My InterpretationDokken with Lynch was one of the best hair bands ever. When it comes to their lyrics, they're no Dio. I've never detected any hidden meaning beneath the surface of their songs, not that there isn't but I think in general they're pretty straight forward. I'm not detecting "Into the Fire" as being anything different. He's got the hots for a two-timing skank that he just can't get over and he's being "tempted once more".
