"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
Creep on in (on in, on in)
Whoa, see I'm ridin' high (whoa)
Kinda broke this evening, y'all
So all I got's five, I got five
Player, give me some brew and I might just chill
But I'm the type that like to light another joint
Like Cypress Hill
I steal doobies, spit loogies when I puff on it
I got some bucks on it, but it ain't enough on it
Go get the S, the T, I-D-E-S
Nevertheless, I'm hella fresh
Rollin' joints like a cigarette (yeah)
So pass it 'cross the table like ping pong
I'm gone, beatin' my chest like King Kong
It's on, wrap my lips around a 40
And when it comes to get another stogie
Fools all kick in like Shinobi (you don't know me)
No, he ain't my homie to begin with
It's too many heads to be poppin' to let my friend get bent
Unless you pull out the fat, crispy
Five dollar bill on the real, before it's history
'Cause fools be having them vacuum lungs
And if you let 'em hit it for free you hella dum-da-dum-dumb
I come to school with a Taylor on my earlobe
Avoiding all the thick teasers, skeezers, and weirdos
That be blowing off the land like, "Where the bomb at?"
Give me two bucks, you take a puff and pass my bomb back
Suck up the dank like a Slurpee
The serious bomb will make a niggy go delirious like Eddie Murphy
I got more Growing Pains than Maggie
'Cause homies nag me to take the dank out of the baggie
I got five on it (got it good)
Grab your 40, let's get keyed
I got five on it
Messin' wit that Indo weed
I got five on it (got it good)
It's got me stuck and I'm tore back
I got five on it
Partna, let's go half on a sack
I take sacks to the face whenever I can
Don't need no crutch, I'm so keyed up
'Til the joint be burnin' my hand
Next time I roll it in a hampa
To burn slow so the ashes won't be burnin' up my hand, bruh
Hoochies can hit but they know they got to pitch in
Then I roll a joint that's longer than your extension
'Cause I'll be damned if you get high off me for free
Hell no, you better bring your own spliff, chief (got it good)
What's up? Don't babysit that, better pass the joint
Stop hittin' 'cause you know ya got asthma
Crack a 40 open, homie, and guzzle it
'Cause I know the weed in my system is gettin' lonely
I gotta take a whiz test to my P.O.
I know I failed 'cause I done smoked major weed, bro
And every time we with Chris, that fool rollin' up a fatty (oowee)
But the Tanqueray straight had me
I got five on it (got it good)
Grab your 40, let's get keyed
I got five on it
Messin' wit that Indo weed
I got five on it (got it good)
It's got me stuck and I'm tore back
I got five on it (got it good)
Partna, let's go half on a sack
Ayy, make this right, man, stop at the light, man
My yester-night thing got me hung off the night train
You fade, I fade, so let's head to the East
Hit the stroll to 9-0 so we can roll big hashish
I wish I could fade the eighth, but I'm low budget
Still rolling a two-door Cutlass, same old bucket
Foggy windows, soggy Indo
I'm in the 'Land getting smoked wit my kinfolk
I been smoked, Yuk'll spray ya, lay ya down (got it good)
Up in the O-A-K the Town
Homies don't play around, we down to blaze a pound
Then ease up, speed up through the E-S-O
Drink the V-S-O-P up with a lemon squeeze up
And everybody's rolled up, I'm the roller
That's quick to fold a blunt out of a bunch of sticky doja (ooh, wee)
Hold up, suck up my weed is all you do (got it good)
Kick in feed, 'cause where I be's, we needs half like Umfufu
I got five on it (got it good)
Grab your 40, let's get keyed
I got five on it
Messin' wit that Indo weed
I got five on it (got it good)
It's got me stuck and I'm tore back
I got five on it (got it good)

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
Magical

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
mannn....this is the song that i got high to the first time i ever smoked. brings back sum kick ass memories of my friends brothers room n takin hits from the bong. good times.
The remix is so much better. This is still cool though.
I can't believe there aren't more comments. This is a classic. I still hear this on the radio, it's just fuckin' great.
Got five what on what? Please be more specific.........
^Read the chorus over again a couple more times "I got five on it, messin with that endo weed"...He's throwing five on a bag dumbass.
There's a mistake too:
"don't make me sip that"
Should be: "don't babysit that"
Filth, it's indo weed. you know like indica???? maybe you're the dumbass

this is a great song though. it speaks truth about being broke but still being able to throw 5 on a sack
Yea this song is awesome I don't really listen to rap but this is a sic song. I prefer this single version to the album 1: I Got 5 On It (Reprise) which is the more explicit 1 but ain't as good.
Yea it's bout drugs (weed) as mentioned in the lyrics if anyone hadn't already figure that out lol.
"hung off the NIGHT TRAIN" shit I never realized dat damn!!! I alwayz thought he sed "nitrate" lol. Guns N' Roses woooooooooo!!! lol. O yea I'm sure the chorus goes "It's got me stuck and I'm tore back"? Or that could just be the explicit version "I Got 5 On It (Reprise)". Anywayz Brap.
This is a great song. It's so catchy and the beat has this kind of "mysterious" feel to it. idk how to describe it lol.
The basic beat is sampled from Club Nouveau's "Why You Treat Me So Bad" and the horn sound effect is from Kool And The Gang's "Jungle Boogie". Without question, one of the best examples of sampled beats. Even though it's been recycled a dozen times by dozens of artists, people still bounce to it
