you never know that feeling till you try that healing feeling can turn you all about and you can see the second wave of life that losers triangle sets you down and out don't misread don't mislead you could be your only friend but when the hammer comes down and you don't hear a sound you can look all around and see...that it's only over when you give up

General Commenti think its about: when you give up, you finally realise what you had, which was fucked up and you regret it, and now you want to fix it all, but you cant.. hence it saying : that its only over when you give up.. meaning that you realise when you give up!

General CommentIt almost sounds like Greg is singing about his life after this album, when the fans turned on him and the whole band left and he gave up and Bad Religion was over and he and went into seclusion for two years.

So I assume he's a psychic, but also a masochist?

General CommentEvery decade or so I give this album another listen, and I always come away feeling like I wish it were one of the things everyone accused it of being. It's not prog rock. It's definitely not synthpop. It's not a U2 ripoff. It's not psychedelic avant-garde post-rock. I would really love to hear Bad Religion trying to be Depeche Mode or Legendary Pink Dots. It might be terrible, it might be brilliant, but it would definitely be interesting. This… not so interesting. It's just generic rock music with a piano. Most of which feels like it needs to be faster. And it doesn't help that it's terribly produced (or, at best, produced like a punk album, which doesn't fit at all).

It does have some great lyrics, but then Bad Religion has some great lyrics scattered all over their career, so that's not enough to make me come back to this album until another decade or so has passed.
