"Handy Man" as written by Otis Blackwell and Jimmy Jones....
Hey girls, gather round
Listen to what I'm puttin' down
Hey, baby, I'm your handy man
I'm not the kind that uses pencil or rule
I'm handy with the love and I'm no fool
I fix broken hearts, I know I truly can

If your broken heart, she needs repair
Then I'm the man to see, I whisper sweet things
You tell all your friends, they'll come running to me
Here is the main thing I want to say
I'm busy twenty four hours a day
I fix broken hearts, I know that I truly can

Come, come, come, come, come, come, come
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Come, come, come, come, come, come, come, oh now
They'll come runnin' to me

Here is the main thing I want to say
I'm busy twenty four hours a day
I fix broken hearts, baby I'm your handy man

Come, come, come, come, come, come, come
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Come, come, come, come, come, come, come
Yeah, yeah, yeah
That's me
(Come, come, come, come, come, come)
I'm your handy man
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
That's me
(Come, come, come, come, come, come)
I'm your handy man
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)

General CommentNothing to do with Carly Simon's friends. Taylor didn't write this song. It was written by a singer named Jimmy Jones in 1960. In 1964 it was recorded again by Del Shannon, who had a solid hit with it. Taylor covered quite a few songs from that era, like "How Sweet it Is", "Wonderful World," and "Mockingbird."

General CommentUmmm...no. It's a somewhat smug statement of how popular he was with Carly's female friends, which gave her much cause for jealousy during their marriage.

MemoryThe song has a bit of a dark undertone for me, since I discovered it in the soundtrack of the film _Smooth Talk_, involving a not-so-benevolent seducer. Btw, the refrain has been completely omitted from the lyrics above.

General CommentThis song is about female masturbation. I'm not the kind to use a pencil or rule!
