i knew something wasn't right, the other night
when she came to bed angry
we used to talk before
but lately we've been fighting now
over the stupidest things
and i don't know if we can come
to some sort of conclusion here
there's gotta be an easy way
to say goodbye, without the many tears
that you cried

and i never wanted to give you away
well, i still love you
but i don't need you
i never wanted to give you away
well, i still love you
but i don't need you

early morning, 6 am, she kicks the blankets of her bed
another cup of coffee yeah
she reads the funny papers, but today
she doesn't feel like laughing
i never meant to cause you pain
something that i can't explain
???
but all i had was you and me
i hope you know that i tried

chorus

i knew something wasn't right, the other night
when she came to bed angry
we used to talk before
but lately we've been fighting now
over the stupidest things
and i don't know if we can come
to some sort of conclusion here
there's gotta be an easy way
to say goodbye, without the many tears
that you cried

chorus

General CommentSG is a great band and so is this song!!
But actually the correct band is "Pushing Daisies" and the song is called "Disagree". It's wrong all over the web. You can see for yourself by visiting their website pushingdaisies.com/audio/ and checkout their other songs.

General Commentonly one possible solution: this was the b-side to universe. uni was only in australia, so it makes sense not many people have heard of it (i vaguely remember hearing about it once now that i think of it, but i have never heard the song or seen the lyrics)

General CommentI don't think this is a Savage Garden song...I've never heard of it (this is the girl who's been a fan since she was 9). And when I searched for it on Google, all I got were other singers. *cue twilight zone music*

General CommentProbably a misattributed song! AFAIK Savage Garden never sang a song of this title. Unless it's a demo track... o_O

General CommentI don't think this is an SG song either. I've been a fan since they first came out in late '96, early '97 and I've never heard of it. It doesn't fit Darren's typical writing style either. Believe me, I've tracked down even the most obscure stuff, like accoustic versions and never-released concert tracks, but nada on "Pushing Daisies". On a side note though, I like the lyrics whether or not it's SG. I kinda wish I knew who the band really was so I could hear the song.
