"Heaven (must Be There)" as written by David K. Lynch, Terence Damien Butler, Jonathan Keith Greasley, Andrew Charles Huckvale, Louis Richard Macan and Peter Ivers....
Oooooh! Ooh I want to find a better place
Oooooh! Ooh I'm searching for a better place
Oooooh! Ooh I'm tired of living in the sand
Oooooh! Ooh I'm searching for a better land
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere
I've never - never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place
Oooooh! Ooh I'm always trying to escape
Oooooh! Ooh I never know which road to take
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere
I've never, never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere
I've never, never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place
Live in this place
Live in this place, this place
Oooooh! Ooh I want to find a better place
Oooooh! Ooh I'm searching for a better place
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere
I've never, never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place (don't want to live)
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere (must be there-ere)
I've never, never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place
Heaven, must be there-ere
Well, it's just got to be there-ere (must be there-ere)
I've never, never seen Eden
I don't want to live in this place (fade

General CommentWow, what a great song this is. I love the 80s alternative stuff, and I never heard this song until very recently.

General CommentThis song has 2 themes to me. There's a sad "I don't wanna live anymore" vibe & an optimistic upbeat vibe.. so it's a good song for when you're feeling down & when you feel like something cool & upbeat.. I personally love the sadder side of the song, especially the Oooh's.

One of the best 80's songs out there!

General Commentforgot to analyse... the narator is living a tough life, they're trying to find something better for themselves where things aren't always so hard... they havn't seen it (heaven) before but they have hope that it is there ("well it's just got to be there") which essentially is the only thing pulling them through the place they're at (more mentally than phsyically).

My InterpretationThis song is about finding "The better place" which is heaven. The writer has been living "in the sand", "this place", earth, which is full of downs and is "searching" for the right "road to take" to get there.
