A weakling weighing ninety-eight pounds
Will get sand in his face
When kicked to the ground
And soon in the gym with a determined chin
The sweat from his pores as he works for his cause
Will make him glisten and gleam
And with massage, and just a little bit of steam
He'll be pink and quite clean
He'll be a strong man
Oh honey

But the wrong man...

He'll eat nutritious high protein
And swallow raw eggs...
Try to build up his shoulders
His chest, arms, and... legs
Such an effort if he only knew of my plan
In just seven days
I can make you a man

He'll do press-ups, and chin-ups
Do the snatch, clean and jerk
He thinks dynamic tension must be hard work
Such strenuous living I just don't understand
When in just seven days
Oh baby
I can make you a man

General Comment"i don't like men with too many muscles".. me too, janet. frank is way sexier than rocky! especially in this song. & tim curry's singing is, as always, superb.

Song MeaningThe song has double meaning. First off, it's an extended retelling of an advertisement for Charles Atlas' Dynamic Tension device, which was mainly shown on the back of several comic books in the 1940s on up. There were four ads, but the one the song mainly retells is the one called "The Insult that Made a Man out of Mac." The Dynamic Tension is actually mentioned in the song.

The other meaning, which is more obvious, is Frank's sexual infatuation with not just bodybuilding, but his latest creation, Rocky Horror.

My OpinionI always heard it as "Keeping dynamic tension..." but I'm probably wrong. For some reason my mind thinks it makes more sense that way.

I love this song; It's second to only 'Sweet Transvestite' (in my opinion). I find it a little sad, though, because he didn't even live seven days -_-

    @The Butler: That's why it's cute; haha.

Song MeaningI used to think the song was just a non-sequitur combination of a tribute to those classic Charles Atlas comic book ads and Frank's lust for young muscle men.

However I think the song is actually meant to be telling something of a story that fits into the musical, specifically the story of how Frank made his "man", Rocky Horror. He put ads in promising results in a week, and those that showed up "contributed" to Rocky so to speak. One of those was probably Eddie.

It's also a tribute to Charles Atlas ads, and a general expression of Frankie's lust, but it's also essential background to the story.
