"Chinese Democracy" as written by W. Axl Rose, Joshua Ryan Freese, Robin Finck, Darren A. Reed, Paul H. Tobias, Tommy Stinson, Eric Caudieux and Caram Chase Costanzo....
It don't really matter
You'll find out for yourself
No it don't really matter
You're gonna leave this thing to
Somebody else

If they missionaries
Real time visionaries
Sitting in a Chinese school
To view my dis-infatu-ation
I know that I'm a classic case
Watch my disenchanted face
Blame it on the Falun Gong
They've seen the end and you can't hold on now

Cause it would take a lot more hate than you
To stop the fascination
Even with an iron fist
Our baby got to rule the nation
But all I got is precious time

It don't really matter
You're gonna find out for yourself
No it don't really matter
So you can hear now from
Somebody else

Cause it would take a lot more time than you
I've got more masturbation
Even with your iron fist
More than you got to rule the nation
But all I got is precious time
More than you got to rule the nation
But all I got is precious time

It don't really matter
Gonna keep it to myself
No it don't really matter
So you can hear it now from
Somebody else

You think you got it all locked up inside
And if you beat them all up they'll die
Then you'll walk them home for the cells
Then now you'll dig for your road back to hell
And with your ? makes you stop
As if your eyes were their eyes you can tell
In your lack of time

General CommentI hate when people say its not the "Old GNR", because Slash is not in it. Slash is the most overrated part of Guns N' Roses. Axl and Izzy were the masterminds behind every song they had. Besides Spaghetti Incident? was by far their worst album, because Izzy was gone. Axl is the greatest front man ever, even with new guys behind him. Its not like these new members suck either. The whole band is amazing in concert.

General Comment"What kind of idiot wear a KFC bucket? That's not freaky rock and roll shock tactics, that's stupid"
That "Buckethead just just happens to be an innovative and extremely under-rated guitarist who has played with Bootsy Collins, Les Claypool, and Iggy Pop, you ignorant cur.

    General Comment(V)%()£Y you said

"Does anybody in this world actually respect Axl? the guy has gone through a lot in his life, the most obvious being his divorce from his wife. he used to sit in his house alone and cry. then all the original members of GnR left (ok, some were fired, but only because they gave abuse to Axl). he has spent the last 10 years of his life trying to get a new band up-and-running, and trying to peace together this new album, Chinese Democracy. this guy respects the fans, and tries to give them what they want. and you guys just have a go at him? are you out of your fuckin' minds?! glad I got that of my chest :-) "

i'm so glad i was not the only one who thinks that way!!! people are always talkin about him, mostly complainning... i don't know if axl has bipolar; i believe he is being what he is. he's a real jerk and i love this jerk as long as he plays the piano and sings november rain!! if he gives u music, u choose to listen or not!!! the thing is that simple.

General CommentThe movie Kundun was on about the Dalai Lama. I was getting ready to leave, the TV was on and it was the end of the movie. And the Dalai Lama is about to cross over the border, to you know, be in exile for the rest of his life from his own country. And he looks back at the men who helped him, and you know he’s escaped the Chinese government. And he looks back at them and he waves and they wave at him. And then they show a scene where he looks back at them again and he sees every one of them dead. Because he knew they would be killed, and they knew that in helping him they would be killed. And you know the emotion in this next song, that’s all that’s about. It’s not like an intelligent song. It doesn’t have the answer to anything. And it's not necessarily pro or con about China. It's just that right now China symbolizes one of the strongest, yet most oppressive countries and governments in the world. And we are fortunate to live in a free country. And so in thinking about that it just kinda upset me, and we wrote this little song called "Chinese Democracy."

General CommentThis song is really average...although a couple of the other new songs like "Madagascar" and "The Blues" are pretty good.

The album is in limbo because Axl Rose knows it is going to have to live up to the old material and it just isn't good enough. Velvet Revolver and other bands with ex-GNR members don't have to worry about that. Listen to "Oh My God" -- his new industrial direction just doesn't work.
I heard a 2002 interview with him in which he blamed the endless delays on record companies not giving preference to old bands, so poor old Axl has to produce it himself, be the A&R guy etc. Is he perhaps forgetting that his record company has sunk 13 MILLION dollars into a record that will probably never surface (even if it did, it would undoubtedly tank artistically and commercially)?

General CommentThis song is about how you're going to find out sooner or later that our government sucks. Big deal. Actually not too bad of a song, but I hope the studio version is better than the bootleg....if it's ever released.

General CommentI always really respected and admired Axl Rose - but what the hell is this?! He can't replace EVERY SINGLE MEMBER (apart from himself) of a band, and still call it the same name!

Then again, the other, original GNR members had to sign over the rights to the name, didn't they...? But - I'd still respect Axl far more if he had changed the name of this new line-up. I know he feels that the name "Guns 'n' Roses" belongs to him, but it's just so arrogant - it belongs to the others too. Not legally, 'cause they signed it over - but they sort of had to. If Axl hadn't turned into such a...control freak...the original GNR might still be together now. But in music history, the original GNR is, well, the original GNR. Replacing everyone and then producing this...stuff...practically contaminates the name "Guns 'n' Roses". At least, I think so.

I hate to have to think like that, though. Control freak or not, Axl was a musical and lyrical genius, and one of the greatest frontmen ever - of the ORIGINAL band, that is. I wish he'd realise, though - if he wants to be in a band - he has to be a MEMBER of the band, not the dictator. I hope he wakes up one day - SOON - and thinks "What the hell am I doing?!"

Most of the opinions above were formed as a result of watching a "Behind The Music" thing on the band. Just to let you know, I'm not just spouting random stuff.

I don't really like Velvet Revolver a whole lot, but naturally, you're gonna compare them to GNR, so...

I'm tired of Fuckheads saying this!

Tracii Guns Thoughts of the name, Maybe they should have changed it when he left?

Maybe you should learn about Guns N' Roses before making completely stupid Accusations like that.
