"When Somebody Loved Me" as written by and When She Loved Me....
When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour spent together
Lives within my heart

And when she was sad
I was there to dry her tears
And when was happy so was I
When she loved me

Through the summer and the fall
We had each other that was all
Just she and I together
Like it was meant to be

And when she was lonely
I was there to comfort her
And I knew that she loved me

So the years went by
I stayed the same
But she began to drift away
I was left alone
Still I waited for the day
When she'd say I will always love you

Lonely and forgotten
Never thought she'd look my way
And she smiled at me and held me
Just like she use to do
Like she loved me
When she loved me

When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour spent together
Lives within my heart
When she loved me

General Commentthis song is full of emotion and passion. <> 2 friends very close, with each other through thick and thin...until one day when that all changes without a reason without an explanation, leaving one of them heartbroken. i relate to this song very well. what do you do when your best friend, your encourager, motivator, support and comfort just one day walks away for whatever reason? it takes a lifetime to accept it.

General CommentThis songs has made me cry many times.
I think it has two meanings. One is that from the movie. The other is that of a mother who's daughter grows up and apart from her.

General CommentAs much as I love this song, I hate it as well, but not nearly as much. At the time, my boyfriend sung this song for a performance, and we were in the process of breaking up, and we ended up like two days later. It makes me cry just kinda thinking about how this song relates so perfectly...

To me, this song means like, two people were best best friends. One of them hadnt really expected anything less than that close relationship to ever come around. The other friend just kinda... fell away, leaving the other person there, who might be waiting for any sign of that relationship again

General CommentI can totally relate to this song. Sarah Mclachlan always writes the most pure and beautiful lyrics that always seem to speak to the heart.

General CommentSarah McLachlan does write beautiful songs, but not this one. Randy Newman wrote it for toy story 2.

General CommentEvery time I watch this scene from Toy Story 2, I cry the same amount of tears, and I've seen the movie like five times (it seems to be a babysitting standard). Yes, it's a toy, but it's a toy with feelings! Haha.

This song is just so beautiful and heartbreaking. Sarah's voice is perfect for it.

General Commentever think about all those little tiny hints in her songs about woman on woman love? I mean, i'm not saying she's gay or anything, but seriously, it's in a copuple songs. Always vague enough though, fun i think! always makes me chuckle...
