Baby set me free
From this misery
I can't take it no more
Since you ran away
Nothing's been the same
Don't know what I'm living for

Here I am so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here baby
Miss you want you need you so
Until you're back here baby
There's a feeling inside
I want you to know
You are the one and I can't
Let you go

So I told you lies
Even made you cry
Baby I was so wrong
Girl I promise you
Now my love is true
This is where my heart belongs

'Cause here I am so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here baby
Miss you want you need you so
Until you're back here baby
There's a feeling inside
I want you to know
You are the one and I can't
Let you go

And I wonder (wonder)
Are you thinking of me
'Cause I'm thinking of you
And I wonder (wonder)
Are you ever coming back in my life

'Cause here I am so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here baby
Miss you want you need you so
Until you're back here baby
There's a feeling inside
I want you to know
You are the one and I can't

Until you're back here baby

Awesome song. It used to be a girl from the past and my song. I love it. I haven't heard it in forever though. Great song! Thanks.

Coolio, and zipped6648 why do you always put a space then the letter "b" at the end of all your notes?! It bothers me! :P

Ahh, BBMak. ^_^ My semi-guilty pleasure.. but they aren't really a boy band, technically, so I guess it's okay. I love this song, I really do. The beat is great, the lyrics.. simple, but fun. Just another song about missing someone and wanting them back..

I hadn't heard this song in like 5 years, then while looking for The Calling on Launch, I came across these guys again. I remembered them singing this, and I immediately downloaded it.

Weirdly, I remembered the first few lines like I had only just heard it 5 minutes ago.

Yeah, this is a quite old song now and sometimes I probably wouldn't pay attention to now, but back then in 2000 this tune and this video really touched my innocent and unexperienced heart...I can clearly remember watching this video late at night after my first love had been visiting me and weeping cause I already knew it was too frail, but I was also aware of my feelings. "Here I am so alone and there's nothing in this world I can do..." it was up to him, and he had already made the choice of not sticking with me, no matter what I did... "And I wonder, are you thinking of me, cause I'm thinking of you...and I wonder: are you ever coming back in my life?"...Whenever he left, I didn't know if he was coming back or not so it was only myself wondering what was going to happen next. And then we were on and off several times over five and a half years and even today I wonder and long for an opportunity, since we were never officially over...so whenever we are apart, I wonder if he even thinks of me or recalls our moments together...

What a bittersweet song for me, from the happiest time of my life, before things got actually too sad and lonely (he was also my best friend). Brings back a lot of memories, feelings and senses to me.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
