In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
It's hard to be a Jew on Christmas
My friends won't let me join in any games
And I can't sing Christmas songs
Or decorate a Christmas tree
Or leave water out for Rudolph
Cos there's something wrong with me
My people don't believe in Jesus Christ to divinity
I'm a Jew, a Lonely Jew, on Christmas
Hanukkah is nice, but why is it
That Santa passes over my house every year?
And instead of eating ham I have to eat Kosher Lock Cheese
Instead of Silent Night I'm singing Who Hack Do Ga Geesh
And what the Fuck is up with lighting all these fucking candles?
Tell me please
I'm a Jew, a Lonely Jew
I'd be Merry
But I'm Hebrew
On Christmas
My friends won't let me join in any games
And I can't sing Christmas songs
Or decorate a Christmas tree
Or leave water out for Rudolph
Cos there's something wrong with me
My people don't believe in Jesus Christ to divinity
I'm a Jew, a Lonely Jew, on Christmas
Hanukkah is nice, but why is it
That Santa passes over my house every year?
And instead of eating ham I have to eat Kosher Lock Cheese
Instead of Silent Night I'm singing Who Hack Do Ga Geesh
And what the Fuck is up with lighting all these fucking candles?
Tell me please
I'm a Jew, a Lonely Jew
I'd be Merry
But I'm Hebrew
On Christmas

"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
Just A Little Lovin'

Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Magical

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
its actually kinda truthful to wot its like to us jews around xmas does anyone have the lyrics for the end section of the song? it starts : "hey little boy whats this i here, somebody misisng out on xmas cheer....."
Hey little boy, I couldn't help but hear
You're feeling left out of Christmas cheer
And I've come to say that you shouldn't be sad
This is the one month that you should be glad

'Cos it's nice to be a Jew on Christmas
You don't have to deal with the season at all
You don't have to be on your best behavior
Or give to charity, you don't have to go to
Grandma's house with your Alcoholic family

And I dont have to sit on some fake Santa's lap
And have him breathe his stinky breath on me!
That's right! You're a Jew, a stylin' Jew ...
It's a good time, to be Hebrew ...on Christmas.
